*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

i would be surprised if a 64gb 3g will be under 600, i still have enough for one though... just need to get a preorder in quick :P

does anyone have any inside info about a good place to preorder one?

Apple is your only choice until retail stores (non Apple) stock them.

Check out eBay. Quite a few available in the UK for a good price. You just need to need to be active and smart about it.

God I love the keyboard in this thing. I know i have already said that but it's just so good!,

I'm still tempted by a 64GB 3G.... just not sure if I can justify £592 when I'm "saving for uni"..
Is that how much they will be in the UK?
Is the WiFi the same price aswell?

Nope, that's $829 + North Carolina Sales Tax and then converted to £ (so how much it'll cost me to get someone in the states to bring one back with them).

I'd expect the UK price (inc VAT) to be about £100 more.

"UK pricing and pre-ordering will be announced Monday 10th May, with an expected availability of the end of May" (Genius in Apple Store today).

I'm guessing it will be an extra 30 days to get hold of the 3G model. Will be sure to buy that one.

So you guys don't have to wait long to learn the pricing of the iPad. My guess is that it will be £479 maybe £449. Which makes the £600 smackers i paid for this a good price.

Picked up my 32gb this evening and have been happily playing away since I got in from work. Just typing this out in landscape mode is my first real typing experience and I must say I am very impressed!

I would say I am marginally quicker when typing on a regular keyboard but I am surprised at how easy and fast it is to type!

I haven't got many apps on here yet but unfortunately after this evening I'm having it taken away from me for a week! I bought it as a birthday present for myself and my other half is insisting that after I have "tested" it this evening then she is taking it away to wrap up until next Saturday....this is going to be torture!

Overall after my first 2 hours I'm loving it :)

Can't wait to get this back in a weeks time and looking forward to some really good apps coming through in the future.

Wouldn't mind one myself. even if it was the 16GB one. just could never justify the price for how much i would use it compared to my £200 itouch 3g 32gb
Ill give it some time to fall in price or whatever, or till i win a nice amount of money :D

Apple prices don't reduce in price so you'll be waiting a long time!! Lol

Dude, just buy one. You will not use your iPod touch unless for taking it out as a iPod.

I find my typing to be just as fast and with the great auto correct on it , it just makes it better.

true but over time you get better value for money. Though that's to lo long lol like my 1g itouch 8gb was £200. A few years later my new itouch 32gb 3g was £210 ;)

I'll look at prices and such when they've been released. :p
