*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

One thing I do miss, though I believe os 4 will rectify this, is multi tasking. My Android phone can do it very well and it's not a patch on this thing.

I'd love to buy one (I love my IPOD Touch - use it every day) - just can't see where I'd use it ? where are people using them ? If I'm on the hop I use the Touch (I sync RSS feeds offline etc - use Instapaper for offline webpages etc) and if at home I use the PC

? I'm looking for an excuse ...

When you fancy lounging on the settee. When you need to use the little boys room and just can't be away from the net for the duration ;). When laying in bed, which I plan on trying for the first time tonight (converting a film to give a viewing).

Lounging on the settee is my favourite place to use it so far.

It's also great for video watching if you have a large collection on your HDD. Air Video is probably the 2nd best App I bought today, Scrabble being the first.

You can watch pron on a bigger screen :p

For anyone looking for a PDF reader i can add another recommendation for GoodReader! It's simply great compared to Calibre conversions. You can download from the web directly into GoodReader and can upload/download from cloud storage such as Google Docs. It also has a built in web server that you can enable and then browse to your iPad from a PC and upload your files directly to it over wifi.

I'm currently using Zinio for magazines which I have found quite nice so far. There is sometimes a little delay when turning pages but overall i'm happy with it.

Cue gratuitous "posted from the throne" comment ;)

But seriously, I was chugged to pieces when I got home from work to find that TNT had left me a parcel.

Haven't had a chance to try out the 3G, as neither O2, Orange or Vodafone have sent me out the SIMs I ordered.

Got the day off tomorrow, so she'll be getting put through her paces then. So far, loving it!

PDF wise I wanted a converter on my Mac so I could use iBook, have to look around for a good one!

Typing is quite easy on the iPad, easier than i thought but still take some learning!

Just bought a £5 neoprene case off eBay to keep me going till Dodocase arrives, need to keep the iPad in perfect nick!

Ok can anyone clarify something to me.
I have GoodReader for the iPhone.

Does this mean I can get the iPad version for free too?

I don't think so. I don't have the iPhone version but in iTunes, my version of GoodReader is listed as an iPad only app so I would assume they are two completely seperate apps / products to buy.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's the same one I got. Fiver off the bay and protects the case nicely AND all the holes line up

It shall meet a grisly end when the Dodo arrives.

That was exactly what I thought until I tried GoodReader. I suppose it depends that type of content you have in PDF's. For me all of my PDF's are technical documents or work/study based things to read so i'm happy for these to be kept in a seperate app to the books i will have in iBooks. If your PDF's are of normal books then I can see why you would want these in the iBooks app just to make logical file management and keep things together.

Case wise I only wanted something to keep it safe when not being used or being carried around, I didn't fancy it being kept in a case when i'm using it so I went for a FOOF - http://foofshop.com/

It arrived today and I'm very happy with my foof :)
