*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

why did you expect a £20 charge ? they want you to spend money with them and to do that they need to send you the 50p card you need using there already paid for postage contract

i cant remember paying for a sim in maybe 10 years. hell o2 used to post about 5 at a time through the door for no reason

So even if the phone is simless just keep plugging it into itunes and see what happens?

Obviously the orginal sim card will be dead as transfered to iphone 4

Yes. The unlock is done on Apple's servers (O2 adds your IMEI to an unlocked iPhones database that Apple has). Next time you plug your iPhone into iTunes it'll query the database and unlock the phone for you.

Right started the process to activate my Micro-Sim.

How do you know when it's time to switch over? Did you just lose all network coverage?

Yep, I filled in the form today around 11am, and had "No Service" at 11:30. Put the micro-SIM in and had full coverage, and then received an MMS an hour later to say that MMS had been enabled. Easy :)

Been on the phone to Orange retentions dept... They offered me £17.50 for 18 months contract, 400 mins, Unlimited texts and internet with a free £100 equivalent phone.

Tempted to go for that and they purchase the iPhone SIM free from them as that would work out at;

£480 iPhone
£315 18mnths
minus £100 for Nokia

Total £695

What you guys think? :)

Went to my local o2 shop and the guy got from protective of his precious micro-sims - he demanded an email from Apple saying I got my pre-order in ¬_¬'

Guess I'll have to take another trip in later :p

My friend who works for O2 has just confirmed that they will be receiving a fair amount of black iPhones on launch day but definitely no white ones.. :-(

Damn you JOBS, Damn you!!!! LOL

Just got back from the o2 branch in the Birmingham Bullring. Nearly got handed an ipad micro sim then another member of staff over her shoulder noticed what she was doing and give me a proper iphone 4 micro sim from a separate box. They only had them delivered this morning.

Yeh i've just this second got back from the Wolverhampton branch. All sorted now and got my iphone micro sim :D Walsall, Perry Barr and West Bromwich haven't had any stock as yet and don't expect to get any until thursday...

Went to the O2 shop on oxford street today to see about getting a micro sim to transfer my simplicy over. They said they wouldnt be handing any out untill the 24th.

i remember the 3g launch too... store opens at 8.02 first guy goes in. 8.03 all the systems go down under load and they end up taking peoples details down on paper for each contract. Sure it was taking them around half hour per customer. :( i was about the 7th in line..
