*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Hmm it appears I no longer get reception loss when I turn wifi on, the signal stays full strength regardless of where I touch the phone. I'm on Three btw :). As soon as I turn wifi off then I get signal loss when touching mainly the bottom left.

i think here is some serius hardware problem maybe conflicting with software as swithing on wifi and than shorten antena with it should also make problem with wifi too

iPhone =- Waiting for Activation - This may take some time. Had this since 8am this morning however my girlfriends was only purchased at 6:30pm and is working fine.

Embed update:

TnT couldnt find me so i went to pick it up.

Got back, now i must update to 10.5.8 to allow the phone to sync with itunes.

Popped the o2 micro sim in anyway but i get 'No Service'
I no its active as i got it a few days ago and i phoned them and they said it was active.

So looks like i have chosen a network which gives me no coverage at home!!?!?!?!?

Or does the network come to life after you sync?
Slightly annoyed / stressed that i signed up to a 12m simplicity contract

Odd. I can now replicate the signal loss, but have just tried it with Wifi on, and I get the same as you - no loss. Bizarre.

Seems to make me think it is a software issue.

as i remember u didint even need to put sim on free sim version just plug usb and wait in itunes, it have to write congrats iphone is unlocked and then put sim

Glad you got yours Embed.
Mine did say updating carrier (iTunes word not mine) settings when it synced. Might be that mate.

I really hope so mate.

Do you think o2 would be nice enough to cancel my 12m if i asked nicely and explained the situation (if it came to that)

OK that's annoying. When I turn it on it says: No SIM card installed. Insert a valid with no SIM lock to active iPhone. :S Thoughts?

Can anyone confirm that the phone just says "no service" untill the number gets swapped over from one sim to the other? Been waiting hours now with a few reboots and still no change. Might reinput the data and try again..

Yes it says No Service until the sim has been activated.
