It is rather depressing and good. The manga is even better than the anime as it carries the story line better and fleshes out on the plot and characters more, shame it is only up to book 3 so far. I'll keep the rest of my opinions till you've finished it :).

Finished reading Legend of the Twilight thank you very much LostCorpse and am a little confused. Do the Hack video games continue the story after Hack Sign and then after them that is where the manga takes off, or are there some manga in between Hack Sign and Twilight? Guess what I am trying to say is do I need to scrounge a ps2 and the 4 games to get the rest of the story.

Thanks Lostcorpse that does explain some of the holes and things that you are expected to know in Twilight. It also explains why I scratched my head all the way through unison.

Saw this advertised within the latest Gunslinger Girl dvd. The film that it is based on is very good, but having seen the film I'm not sure if Samuri 7 will be able to stand up to it (the film realy is that good). One advantage I could see straight away is that the main cast is not entirely male unlike the film and it will be in colour. Might have a look at it, along with Piano at some point, but it is not on my must buy list yet.

Yeah I know it was based on Akira Kurosawa (SP?) Seven Samurai movie & I think the main reason I'm looking at it is is because I'm curious to see what they've done to source material to make it work as an Anime.

Think I might give it a punt & see what its like.

I would be interested to know what it is like and how close to the original it is. My one main criticisam with the full length bfi release of Seven Samuri is that the subtitles are atrocious (just like my spelling :) ). You have the actors speaking but no subtitles appearing and the subtitles saying one thing and with my bad understanding of japanese the actors saying another, but as far as I'm aware it is one of the very few full length versions with english subs. So anything that can help flesh out the plot a bit helps.

Was just reading about it again & looks like this is actually set in the future so not sure how close its even going to be to the original :(
Just ordered the first volume from DVDP for £9.55 :D
Will let you know what its like when I get it & get the time to sit down & watch it (Might take me a while I'm afraid :()

Quick one for you all as well...where do you buy most of your Manga?
I popped over to Borders @ Lakeside on my lunch break today & they have racks of Manga :D
I think they'r prices we're pretty good too...between £5.50 - £9.99
So I'm tempted this week to start my collections off, just thought I'd see where you all get yours before I get to excited & spend a ton of money if I can get them elsewhere cheaper.

Thanks for the help.

Neil

Yeah this will be the first Manga I've really bought (Well apart from some Ranma 1/2, Baoh, Silent Mobius & Crying Freeman Comics from years ago anyway)
So I need to browse & choose titles by the blurb at the mo, did find a few I'm thinking about while I was looking though but cant remember half the names of them now will post tomorrow after I've looked again & decided what ones :D

Can you recommend any worth getting?
Most of my Anime is Mech or Monster based at the mo so something along those lines maybe?

Thanks again guys

Neil
