Quick one for you all as well...where do you buy most of your Manga?
Shop wise, Traverling Man huge stock (or at least the one in Bristol does) and until reacently that had a number of offers on including 50% off and buy 3 get the 4th free. Forbidden Planet do some as well as Blackwells but they are slightly more limited. Online the same as Lostcorpse realy. The good things about shops and especially Traverling Man, because the have nice comfy seats :D , is that you can see what drawing styles you like etc before buying. Also in shops what you see you get unlike online where it could take months if you're unlucky. Another good thing about a specialist shop is if you spend enough with them you stand a better chance of being able to blag a discount, more so when you walk in and all they do is wave and smile :) .

Try having a look at Full Metal Panic side splittingly funny, Helsing vampires nazis warewolves etc and as mentioned above Gunslinger Girl very dark but with a touching story line.

I'm currently looking for a retailer who can get me the japanese releases of GunSmith Cats, prefrably without having to import them myself. Any suggestions?

Thanks Lostcorpse I'll have a look there.

How could I forget to add Chrono Crusade nuns with guns, demons, angels and the lovely Sister Rosetta :). Also Chobits much more romance orientated but is good (more so than the anime in my opinion).

The helsing manga is very different from the anime, the plots split fairly early on and goes off in a very different and better path. Definatly worth reading if you can stand the sometimes very exagerated drawing style.

edit: Looks like I'm going to have to order Gunsmith Cats direct from Japan. I can't beleve it they are on about book 5 of Gunslinger Girl over there, lucky so and so's.

good call lostcorpse, this place is superb, may be a bit expensive but are really reliable and have a massive range of DVD's and mercendise :)

They're prices are really good but its the postage they slap you for :(

I just had to use SOOOOOOO much restraint not to order about a million of the Takara TF re-issues & Binaltech figures :(

It cointains 6 remastered episodes:

# "Asteroid Blues"
# "Ballad of Fallen Angels"
# "Wild Horses"
# "Waltz For Venus"
# "Mushroom Samba"
# "Hard Luck Woman"

Sounds Like the Same DVD then...

So much so that in Japan, two special DVDs were released containing six episodes reedited and remixed into Dolby Digital 5.1 audio under the direct supervision of series director Shinichiro Watanabe.

Now, those episodes are available for the first time in a special edition in the U.S. with some added features. An all new Dolby Digital 5.1 audio mix has been created, as well as an exclusive DTS Japanese audio track. Experience Cowboy Bebop like you've never experienced it before!

Same here Kodiak :D
Hopefully it should arrive next week :)

Whilst i'm here can I just say thanks to Divine Wind for pointing out the Tokyo Godfathers box the other week, I finally got round to watching it the other night and absolutely loved it :)
I also watched Memories which was very good :)

For anyone who is interested (i don't know if it's been mentioned yet) apparently Bandai are rereleasing a number of series from the past couple of years, iirc it include things like please teacher (box set with soundtrack for $50rrp or $28+ shipping from DVDPacific).

So that's all the episodes then?
Nope the first 5 or so.

Not too sure about how many are going to be released, probably between 6-8 dvds for the entire 26 episode series.

i think the please teacher one is repackaged, and you don't get all the LE items (postcards etc) but you do get the OST - the same with a number of others where they are now rereleasing them in budget format.

I think the reason for the relase with OST is because the distributor owns the rights to the ost's as well and it may make the series more appealing than some of the other budget sets (ADV's new thinpack sets apparently don't have any extras even on the disks).

You're probably all aware of this, but I spotted vol. 3 of the new Cowboy Bebop manga in Borders today! This is not the "Shooting Star" alternate-take series, but the one which seems to be a direct sequel to the tv series. I had a quick skim through it and it was very good, it only had 2 longer stories in it rather than the shorts of the first 2 volumes. I could almost hear what the soundtrack would sound like!;)
