yep went to the excel in may and it rocked pretty good selection of merchendise and stuff and i met the guy who voiced batou in GITS sac :D

Travelling man in Newcastle has some nice anime stuff in the sale, Was very tempted to grab myself a Galhound statue for £11 but it was the repaint and I aint to keen on the colours.

Gonna go back tomorow and have a better look as I was in a bit of a hurry.

Does anyone here order from diamond?

Im thinking of gettin the Tenjo (tenjho/tenjou) Tenge 12" stats to stand next to the artbox.

I haven't heard anything about it fieldy, not from the usually reliable sources anyway.

I wouldn't be suprised if some of the adv sub divisions aren't doing great (manga, toys and tv for example), but if memory serves they are all setup so that after their first year they shouldn't have any real affect on the main business.
I can't see ADV US being in any major problems, even if there was a serious downturn in the market, as I beleive ADV tend to be a bit conservative when it comes to spending money and try not to overextend themselves (hence making subdivisions largely independant after a year).

Finally had a chance to sit down and watch FMP this morning,

Yeah that was then..... now (24 episodes later) what a great series.

Im sure I had stuff to do today but nevermind :p

I thought series 2 was ace and series 1 didnt let down at all.

A little more serious, but it worked well.

Some of the animation on the sub, jeez, I swear that was real !

Just gotta wait for the next series :)

OK guys whats next ? Anyone suggest any series ?

And the Macross DVD is still sitting here if anyone wants it.
 
Well I'm still working through my Getter Robo collection at the mo.

Got Elfen Lied, Gilgamesh, Street Fighter 2 V & the rest of Generator Gawl to watch when I've finished.

Just dont seem to have the time lately to sit down & watch any :(

Gilgamesh sounds good though...quite looking forward to this & especially Elfen judging by all your opinions of it.

Just a heads up, Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum: 4 is now available. Got mine ordered, and should be here soon :D

Its quite noticeable that on a certain online retailers site, when I log in the primary reccomendations have now all become Anime stuff...

Garp im sure a lot of users on ehre are in the same boat with regards to NGE-P

I tend to stick to R1 unless thereas something special about the R2-UK releases.

I have even at times bought R2J and R3K over UK stuff.

R1 tends to be a lot cheaper (even inc post, and at times customs/vat) they get nicer releases (ie - artboxes) adn they tend to come out a lot sooner.

R2J - Well theyre out miles ahead most of the time, downside is thought theres a very minimal seleection that is released with Subtitles. They can also get really expensive really quick, the godzilla boxset I was looking at was like £300 :eek:

As for the R3K stuff, sometimes the releases are of the same transfer as the R2J, however a lot more R3K has english subtitles. The Special Boxsets and such are also a lot more affordable than the jap ones too.

I'd love to be able to support the UK release guys more but just cant... I mean the NGE- releases weer working out at approx £9.50 each inc post which is nigh on half of the price of the UK ones (and this can be said for a lot of anime releases) added to this the amount of time we have o wait for stuff over here ... I just dont think its worth it.

Myself and a few others pretty much had the entire NGE-P releases before even Vol1 had been released over here.

Do you not buy imports Garp ?

Agreed, I merely pointed it out as an observation that that particular site has twigged a current trend in my buying and is trying to tempt me with stuff :D
Stupidly, they're currently trying to tempt me with Trigun Volume 3, when I haven't even got Volumes 1 and 2...

I do, and have done in the past.. I've got Hero, House of the flying dragons, Princess Mononoke, Spirited away, Ghost in the Shell, and a few other films on import, but for the most part I prefer to get R2. Me and some mates routinely swap DVDs and the like, and I'm one of few that has a region free DVD player, so all my import stuff they can't watch. That and I'm fed up with delivery delays and the like with import stuff. It took over a month and a half from a reputable import place to get Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away sent, and that was from items supposedly in stock!

so far the best e-tailer I've found is www.yesasia.com, but they're even more expensive for NGE than buying R2.
 
Okay guys need some help here anybody know how to find out what job vaccancies people like ADV have, didant know where abouts to post about this thought you guys would know better than anyone else, well i kinda need a new job and i thought why not in anime and manga :D
