Just started watching Naruto currently on season 1 episode 6 so a long way to go. Anyway i noticed theres quite a few films, when do i start watching them?

Not into Naruto myself but a quick Google around comes back with this link which is a timeline someone has come up with linking all the various Naruto things, (warning could have spoilers).

It looks quite complex as it looks like it places flashbacks from Shippuuden into where they would be in the earlier chronology but if you ignore them then it may give you what you want.

Asobi is a good, fun, series of it's type. Yes it's not big and clever but it's a good fun watch without being complex and heavy. Is it a great? ... of course not, but it doesn't try to be great either. Personally I liked it.

No that's true, my comment is all IMO as I tend to prefer more 'substance', be it strong music/characters/plot etc; whereas I understand easy-watch style shows also have thier market; I just tend to find that whilst I can watch a lot of them, they just don't appeal to me so much :)

Lsg1r's sum up is pretty much my thoughts on the show too; it's just not my favourite sort of show :)

Naruto is one of those things i'll watch when it actually finishes. But, considering it's international popularity and money making potential (emphasis on the latter) it will probably be a few more years before it's milked dry and comes to a conclusion.

Quick question for those of you with Eden of the East on dvd/blu ray. I noticed that the first episode has the original opening, but the following episodes have a new one, I'm guessing that's because they weren't allowed to use the Oasis song and/or it was to expensive to use in western territories?

Aye, iirc the costs to licence the Oasis music for the western release was going to be ridiculous, so they had to use an alternative (for the Japanese release I suspect Oasis didn't ask for a great deal as it's not one of their core audiences).

It was quite surprising we even got it the once for the first episode really.

Had a fairly slow weekend due to having to catch up with a few things after being away last week, (actually watch no anime at all Mon-Fri last week, although I did read four Maria-sama light novels).

Finished watching A**a the Scarlett Ammo ... thought that over all it was a pretty weak series. It had potential, and maybe if it was longer then it might have fulfilled it, but it generally just wasn't that good.

Finished watching Bridge to the Starry Skies ... did really find this series to be a bit of a mess. Ok, it's your standard harem genre but it got rather fragmented at times. I've seen worse but everything felt lacking in any depth and the ending seemed rushed.

Watched GitS SAC Solid State Society on BD ... looked very nice. Reasonably good film but you need to have seen the SAC series first, (and preferably the full series not the hack-jobs which are "The Laughing Man" and "The Individual Eleven".

Also watched the first two-thirds of Durarararara!! this weekend which I'll finish next weekend and started re-watching Negima!?

Typical just as it starts getting interesting again it basically stops..... I hope they do another series then as at the end of episode 12 I didn't even realise it was the end of the series :o

Watching Teeny Witchers atm, it is a bit strange at times and the animation can be good then bad at times but i like the main characters and the magic bit is decent enough.

that's on my 'to watch' list for this season....

As to asobi, it was one of those series where it's just sit down, watch the pretty pictures and enjoy as it was in no ways a complicated or serious show

Some of the best shows to relax to can be like that :)
Often not a lot of rewatch value, but something silly and light.

It's good news to hear that Nozomi have rescued much of the other Dirty Pair materials (and even including both dubs on the OVA's I think), which means I'll probably be getting them, I may also get the new Nadesico as I think they said something about it being the remastered versions (I've got the original version in R2 and 4 PAL), with the Gekigenger OVA :)

I've literally just finished Planetes (can't sleep), which was I think pretty darned good overall:)
A bit of a mix towards the end, but a nice ending *spoilers*Tanabe and Hachimaki getting married, with the strong suggestions of her being pregnant or having a baby in the last scenes (I'm sure one of the things that Mrs Tanaka was hanging out was a baby grow), most of the team getting to continue doing what they want, and even Claire seeming to get a new lease/view of life.*spoiler* (highlight to see, and be warned quoting will show them).

I'm not sure if I should watch Haruhi, Soul Eater, Ouran School Host Club or Buso Renkin next.

I'd go with Haruhi or Ouran personally ... but I didn't like Buso Renkin and didn't really get on with Soul Eater.

Couple more licensing related things .... from Sentai:

Ru-Kyu-Bu!
Ef: A Tale of Memories
Ef: A Tale of Melodies

I didn't expect the last two of these to ever be licensed and it's nice to see them being picked up.

They have also announce the first season of Clannad on BD for November so it'll be interesting to see what they do with that (personally I'll probably just stick with the JP BD release).

:)

Edit: Not quite sure if it's a continuation or alternate universe sort of thing. But apparently some of the characters from the last series will make an appearance.

I hate alternate universes that have no connection to previous series, they in essence, render the previous series obsolete. One of my anime pet hates, E7 movie, I'm looking at you.

Really looking forward to this though.

Haha, somewhat ironic subject; my youngest brother has just watched both series of Clannad :)
He's watching K-On! now which is a bit of a shift :D

(The middle brother corrupted me, and now we've corrupted him...the cycle continues).

It's like a Disney film, with the Circle of Anime instead of life. Akane, Hidaka....
