Watched the second Eden of the East second movie earlier.

Looks good on BD ... but as a film Paradise Lost doesn't really stand up very well to the original series. The same as the first movie it seemed to lack the energy of the series and doesn't really seem to wrap things up that well. It's not a bad film but you are left thinking that it could have been a lot better ...

Currently watching Seitokai Yakuindomo and it's pretty funny although pretty much 100% of the jokes are sexually orientated!

Still, bags of laughs are being had :p

That looks like it could be reasonably good fun to watch, although I am speaking as someone who is both a Supernatural and anime fan :) (It's a great TV series, one of the best at the moment imo, especially after you get past the first series).

saitrix, I've got my PC and TV setup on a large L shaped desk.
The PC is on one end of the L, with the TV in the middle of the other bit, so normally I can watch the TV comfortably whilst sat at the PC by just twisting my chair a bit :)
The layout means I've effectively got about 5 metres of continuous level (usually very untidy) desk, with room for the TV, games consoles, scanner, printer, models and monitor.
The downside is when I watch TV like that i'm easily distracted if someone contacts me on msn or whatever.

Hence if it's something that I'm really enjoying/requires a lot of concentration I tend to move away from the PC, it's just that normally it's as easy/comfortable for me to watch something whilst i'm effectively still "at" the PC :)

Yeah it may be sex jokes, but I find it to be funny due to who the voice actresses are.

When you look at where they came off from their previous work and then coming onto this, you just think, the hell?

Anyone know of any anime related podcasts that generally have some decent discussion going. Anything that doesn't involve the hosts acting hyper and irritating with high pitched voices just because it's the 'in' thing to do.

I don't think it's actually possible to have an anime podcast which isn't like that ... there's probably a rule or something ...

It's like an old law, or custom or something...;)

Possibly the ANN or I think Rightstuf podcases which tend to be (from memory as it's been a long time since i listened to one), reasonably serious, often discussing things in a sensible manner.

Following the nano.RIPE cameo in the latest episode of Hanasaku Iroha apparently the two girls who make up Puffy AmiYumi will apparently make an appearance in episode 9 of Usagi Drop as instructors at Rin's nursery.

Sweet, a certain Spice and Wolf artbook has turned up. Now just the wait for the joke booklet (invoice).
Will try and take some pictures later once I've opened her up.

Well the rightstuf podcast has now become a infrequent offering, but there is the UK anime network podcast that discus things in a sensible manner (except for the occasional expletive at times).

I didn't even realise there was a UK anime network podcast :)
I'll have to give it a go sometime.

I finished Wagnaria last night, which was fun although as has been said the characters didn't advance that much, maybe that's changed in the second season?

I also had my S&W S1 blu-ray set ship from Rightstuf, which means I'm going to hold off watching S2 until I've watched S1 again.
Instead I'm going to either watch Shuffle, or a guilty pleasure that arrived this morning...yes I bought Highschool of the Dead (on blu no less!).

We'll see when it airs ...

HotD really isn't my normal preferred genre but I did find that it was pretty good overall (and it does look good on BD). Could really do with another series thought.

Shuffle ... I need to rewatch this, (I have the singles with artbox and pantsu), I admit that I wasn't that enthralled with it the first time I watched it hence the delay before re-watching.

Re-watching Nodame Cantabile S1 at the moment ...

HotD is one that I think could be fun hence the buy, but as you say from what i've heard it could really do with a second season (I note there are a load of the GN's).
It's also got Zombies!
Not enough anime have Zombies, we need more Zombies:D (I can't help but wonder what a Zombieland anme series might be like).

Shuffle is the sort of thing I tend to enjoy as fairly light fair, and it was cheap :) (about £15 from memory)

Well just opened up the artbook and all I can say is :o

It's REALLY nice, all the paper feels of high quality, and all the prints look excellent and sharp, no poor reproductions here! It's much thicker than the first art/guidebook as it seems to span the series; having virtually all the book covers, DVD artwork etc, it's also got a load of the greyscale drawings done for the series. Gotta say, even when they're not in colour they look great, and some of the coloured pieces are immense. The pictures range from small doodles/jots, all the way up to full double A4 coloured prints. There's also a couple of bits towards the back that look like they were artwork drawn for the comic one shots :)

About the only thing it's missing is it's not hardback, like a lot of hardback's its even got a seperate sleeve, with a more simplistic cover underneath.

Really, really nice, which I'm glad of as it did cost me quite a bit, I can completely see why it's fairly expensive now though, I'm almost afraid to look at it too much incase I damage it haha :)

I'm really not sure where I'd start if I was to take some pictures!

Yep SAVE edition's out for Shuffle isn't it?

The trouble with zombies is it's hard to have cute ones ... vampires yes, werewolfs (sic) possibly .... but zombies ... not so much
