The AMD Driver Thread

One of the new features is a new on screen overlay graph. I really like it.

You can customize the size, metrics, colours, transparency, position etc.

wheres the option to move it? im blind and cant find it - edit never mind found it, seems theres 2 locations for the metrics and i was in the wrong one. likely needs some clean-up in that respect but looks very good.

Overlay tab doesn't appear here. Radeon Vega 8 and Radeon RX 560X.
This is under Performance -> Metrics:

I noticed they removed stuff for custom video playback in these drivers. The place where you can pick vivid or sports etc, the custom thing you cant pick your own settings like sharpness etc anymore. :(

Not on mine, 6700xt with latest drivers.

Report a bug. Write them using the top right icon with the bug.

It's too annoying because I have to use also SVP Manager in order to get higher framerate of the videos, so to run smoothly towards 60 Hz, and not standard-driver 24ish Hz.

Just wanted to note that the 21.4.1 drivers, although with a few cosmetic niggles, have been largely fine with Vega.

Importantly, for those who have a real or 8+2 emulated 10-bit monitor, the 10-bit pixel format option in global graphics now appears to be working perfectly. Since enabling that option, I am seeing a very noticeable difference in the general colour gradient displayed, and this has been especially noticeable when comparing darker colours such as black and grey without making any gamma adjustments. As an example, general twitch streams for games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, which relies on lighting that falls in the black to grey spectrum to create a realistic effect, appear to more accurately distinguish between different lighting grades to create a noticeably more life-like image.

However, also note that I don't have the documentation or stats to empirically back my findings, so it could just as well be placebo. That said, I largely doubt that it is placebo, and it would make no sense given the obvious difference I think I am seeing. Anyway, you'll probably need to first check if your display is correctly configured in terms of monitor drivers/cables etc. by ensuring the monitor settings in the control panel include 10-bit colour as enabled alongside a maximised colour profile such as wide spectrum RGB 4:4:4.

This new driver is really bad for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, keep crashing to the desktop, so annoying
I've been getting crashes on Valhalla on all the drivers released this year so I don't think it's specific to the latest ones although I suppose it could have made it worse, hopefully not! My inclination is that it's an issue with the game although it does reset my driver settings following a crash. There seems to be certain areas in the game that are sensitive to crashing. Following a crash if I immediately go back to the same spot, it often crashes again. I try to avoid that area after a crash now or don't look in the same direction! I can have 4-5 crashes in one night followed by 20 hours of stable game play.

Does that happen with everything at stock? Because the behaviour you describe happens if the driver detects instability in the system, as well as just a typical driver crash/bug.
