The AMD Driver Thread

No need to DDU anything. Just uninstall normally and if you want to step it up a notch then uninstall the driver through device manage(remember to wing off the check box to delete the driver) and then uninstall rest per usual. DDU should be saved for, in my opinion, when you have problems that don't want to go away after doing things the regular way.

Howd u install em, download from site then ddu then install or just through the drivers update method which i would never recommend as heard a lot of problems off the forums when ppl do that. @AgedIdiot

Download the driver, Run it, Click "Factory Reset/Clean Install" and hit Install. Really don't need to DDU with these.

Or just download over the top and reboot, and it'll keep your Adrenaline settings intact as @Dicehunter way will scrub any saved Adrenaline settings.

Absolutely this. DDU has its place for a proper clean install to troubleshoot tricky issues but only as a last resort. Just overwrite your existing drivers for both AMD and Nvidia and they keep your settings.

If you are coming from Nvidia more often than not you have a 3rd party OC tool such as Afterburner. Get shot of it totally, no ifs buts or maybes. It’s a useless tool for AMD and totally outclassed by Adrenalin. It exists because the Nvidia driver toolset is woefully limited. DDU does not remove these.

Had so many people run afoul of some 3rd party toolset trying to load an old Nvidia profile in their new AMD GPU. Then they blame AMD for their unstable system. Then you find out they ran DDU but left their old Rivatuner or Afterbutner app installed “cus nostalgia reasons”.

When swapping GPU vendor

1. Uninstall current GPU drivers
2. Uninstall any 3rd party GPU tuner/OC apps
3. Shutdown PC
4. Physically swap GPU in your motherboard
5. Boot up windows and install new GPU drivers.

8700g is having issues with this driver, lag and crashes in chrome, was same prevouse preview drivers. Back on -24.8.1-
Hey can you elaborate on this? Is this under a specific scenario in chrome, like with video playback? Does the same occur in Firefox?

By crashes, are you talking about Chrome CTDs, TDRs, system crashes? Do you have any dmp or log files pertaining to these?

Cheers

The Crew MotoFest looks very strange with this driver. Its sort of like snow on the track that melts away as you get near to it. Don't know if its the game or driver but it's hard on the eye's. I think its messed up specular reflection.

We have a ticket queued to the Vulkan team for rendering defects in this game on the 24.20-based drivers, I'm guessing this could be related

An issue I've had for the last few updates is that if I enable adaptive sync/Freesync globally in the Display section I get random slow down in games but if I disable it globally and only enable it on a per game basis in the Gaming section I get no weird slow down.

I have just tried free-roam and it looks correct so it could be a seasonal affect that they add sometimes, don't no why they would add this though?
