The AMD Driver Thread

Did exactly the same and it didn't remove it. It just embeds itself deep in the registry somewhere. The best thing to do is not install any Windows Monitor update to avoid any future conflicts when running multi monitors.

Do you have auto updates turned on? Because if you do it will auto install on next boot. I had to hide the update to stop Windows from Auto Installing it.

Thanks Tommy, can you drop me more info along with a DXDIAG report in a trust message.

I've requested that as well, as i do with all Crossfire profile requests.

Thanks matt, will send dxdiag off to you later.:)

Update on an issue I was having running 2 monitors on a 290X. Monitors in question being a 1440p 60Hz and a 1080p 120Hz monitor. The problem being the 1440p monitor would not detect when used in conjunction with the 1080p monitor. After some head scratching, the work around is to not install an update that Windows brings down for the 1440p monitor. Seems the Windows driver update for the 1440p monitor is conflicting with the AMD drivers some how.

Thanks for the update Gee:)

Had my eye on your 1080/1440p problem, been thinking about the BenQ now it's on offer, but it'll be paired to the TV and it was a concern, don't have auto updates enabled so it won't be an issue, only need to decide if I'm going to go for it or not.

You should be fine as long as you don't install a driver that Windows randomly finds for you. Depending on which monitors you run windows may not suggest an update. Safest bet if it does, is set to hide & ignore, which I generally do. Probably why I've never come across this conflict before.

I'm still getting the 850Mhz issue with my first card in 3DMark, Matt.

This is what both cards are like during the Firestrike benchmark. You can see the second card clocking correctly at 1090Mhz.

The issue has been around for quite a while, never saw a fix for it though.

Could you please check up on this, Matt? Still can't do any proper benching in 3DMark because of it.

@Matt,

1. AC Black Flag:beta-constant flickering and sync issue whether single or mgpu, unplayable:(, was fine on Omega.

Closed down Raptr:p, it's working fine.
You know what... it astounds me a piece of software that is meant to "optimise" games effects games in a crap way, I had to shut down so Mantle could run and even now it's not a patch on DX11 now... somethigns deffo gone ary over the last few releases... mantle on my 7990's was epic... now it's rubbish... such a shame for such a fantastic piece of software...

Do keep on mind raptr has its own on screen display. I have noticed that raptr conflicts with other programs like msi afterburner OSD etc..

The best thing I found it to completely disable raptr OSD to stop any conflict.

It's not raptr fault it's a known fact that multiple OSD running do conflict.

The only thing I can summise from mantle from all the posts on the internet and now running 3dmark api overhead is that it only really helps underpowered AMD CPU's and mayby a little boost in un optimised machines. I was stupid enough to purchase battlefeild 4 (not really my sort of game) just to try mantle out on my R9 280X oops that should read 7970, the joke was on me.

Thats completely un-true

Mantle on my i7 2600k gained massive performance on single 290x and crossfire 290x

Mantle also gives a much smoother frame latency meaning games feel much better because the rendering times are reduced, animations look more fluid.

Do people still use Raptr? Last time I tried it, it detected lest than a quarter of my games and pretty much wanted to change all my game settings to low. I know my two 7970s are getting a bit long in the tooth, but low! Seems useless to me.

I have absolutely no problems with Raptr. It runs in the background and gives me points that I can get free games or even graphics cards with, if I save long enough! Doesn't effect any of my games and detects them all. Had a bit of trouble with Elite but it sorted itself out

Is there no way to stop the memory clock going to the full 1250MHz when using 144Hz ?, as i get a higher idle temp on that, which in turn gives me a higher load temp.

At 144Hz, my idle clocks are 300/1250MHz, which gives me an idle temp of around 50, yet any refresh rate lower than that, puts the clocks back to their normal 300/150, and that gives me around 40 idle, so lower load temps as well.

Tried AB, but the lowest you can go on that is 515/625, and that doesn't change my idle temp, still stays around 50.

No problem here mine sitting at 150 @144hz
