The AMD Driver Thread

I think these deserves its own thread as I wouldn't of seen the news otherwise and this is what the forum is about, new news and discussing it

Personally I think this is quite poor of amd as it was promised quite some time back that it would be supported, I hope this wont be like the far cry 4 drivers as a lot of people ideal set up would be 295x2 and the 1440p benq or asus monitor and running one gpu would seriously compromise the smoothness even with free sync.

Personally i think AMD are supporting an industry standard which came later than G-Sync and should be commended. If it's not ready then delay it as should be. A little like the Witcher 3 and Gta 5 bring it when it's ready end of story. This thread is a joke tbh and only serves more pointless debate.

Tbh calling Farcry 4 is abit misleading, Farcry 4 needed fixing from a game point of view not drivers..

Reason ubisoft patched it even before amd released the new profile..

Now crossfire Freesync am very upset about this should have been sorted along time ago. But if it's for the better then so be it just hope am not waiting to long.

Releasing it only when they are certain it is ready is much better than some developers rushing games to the shelf for the sake of meeting release date despite knowing it's not ready...and people actually pay for those software...

They've had over a year, there's no excuse.
It just looks silly coming out months and months and months after your competitor, and THEN releasing without parity in features.

It's not really a standard as such, judging by the monitors that have been released so far the technical specifications are all over the place compared to G-Sync monitors.

I would also question why the drivers weren't ready at least half a year ago? the Freesync specification put forth by AMD was accepted by VESA in April 2014, so why then did AMD leave it until monitors had hit the shelves around a year later to start working on adding support to their drivers?

AMD will release it when it is ready....It isn't like they said it would be released in April or anything is it.

Then they shouldn't be allowing sales of Freesync monitors.

I've no problem waiting for things. He'll, I'd rather wait another six months than buy something that doesn't work properly yet.

If I'd bought one it would have gone back with a brick tied to it.

No AMD can not stop the sale of Async/Freesync monitors, they have no legal grounds to do so what so ever, there is nothing in those monitors that belongs to AMD which is no different than TV, film and game companies trying to stop the sale of 8K screen because there is no 8K content, they can't period.

I'm astonished there is no profile for Wolfenstein: The New Order. Was there even an attempt to get it working?

They was no multi GPU support full stop in the other game. From either nvidia or amd.

Honestly stop with this putting blame onto amd. Amd don't choose when a game should support crossfire..

Anyways if you want to force it yiu can with AFR friendly it worked very well for me.
