The AMD Driver Thread

People were complaining of poor Crossfire performance in the game Dying Light. The developer, Techland, have released a game patch which has corrected these performance issues. The patch should automatically download on Steam.

(Windows only)
- Fixed performance issues for Crossfire hardware setups

And that finishes my point early on that amd isn't always to blame for crossfire.

But we have to find a way to make AMD look even more doomed... :D J/K

Anyhow nice one, I heard a lot of people wanted a good Dying Light CF profile, its a nice little game.

That's great but, any news on what I've asked on the 8th of April? as you can see from my post. It's not exactly stellar is it.

hope we do, soon.

a lot of linux games will be soon coming thick & fast & i want to switch, something i could do now on Nvidia but i dont want to be tied down to one choice. give us some ok opengl support in Linux...

heres a reference you all, shows you how bad AMD is linux. (so much for supporting open source :p )
yes a 750TI Min > a R9 290 min

Hey Matt,

I know it's still early access, but Dirt Rally is looking to be a wonderfully optimised title, except that in the cockpit view I notice my gpu usage drops to exactly 50% on both cards and the core clock starts to drop as well, with performance suffering a bit. Also happens in outside view on the Wales maps. Is this something driver related? If I can get the same 120fps in cockpit that I get outside that would be the absolute shiznit! Not sure why the cards decide to not bother working hard inside though so thought I'd ask.

I have some bad news for you the same problem was in dirt 3 (same engine) and never got fixed.

We have Arma3 soon by the looks of it and Shadow of Mordor any time now. They need to be doing something.

I have this too! its kinda ruining the enjoyment of the game a little. Runs great at a locked 60fps on all the outside views but soon as I use cockpit views im getting about 30-40fps and GPU usage halfs.

Noooo! Ah well. That is more than a bit frustrating.

Given that this is an old issue, do we know why it is a problem? Who do I blame for once again losing half of my gpu performance?

AMD delays FreeSync support for PCs with Multiple Radeon GPUs

“After vigorous QA testing, however, it’s now clear to us that support for AMD FreeSync monitors on a multi-GPU system is not quite ready for release,” AMD stated in a forum post first noticed by Anandtech. “As it is our ultimate goal to give AMD customers an ideal experience when using our products, we must announce a delay of the AMD Catalyst driver that would offer this support. We will continue to develop and test this solution in accordance with our stringent quality standards, and we will provide another update when it is ready for release.”

I think these deserves its own thread as I wouldn't of seen the news otherwise and this is what the forum is about, new news and discussing it

Personally I think this is quite poor of amd as it was promised quite some time back that it would be supported, I hope this wont be like the far cry 4 drivers as a lot of people ideal set up would be 295x2 and the 1440p benq or asus monitor and running one gpu would seriously compromise the smoothness even with free sync.
