The AMD Driver Thread

What's this about the windows 10 modded driver improving performance on W8.1?! For some games it is supposedly a significant boost

Is is worth doing on my pc (w8.1 64 bit)? My primary concern is stability.

Will we get these improvements in a future W8.1 driver update?

GL matt and welcome to Joe :)

Any word/idea on this?

Yes they give more performance. I'm currently using 15.200.1040.0 modded driver that came out today. They seem to be having roughly 5% extra drawcall performance compared to previous 1023.5 drivers. They also have gamespecific optimisation from 15.5 driver. So in performance you can only win.

But, if your concern is stability, then no they ain't your driver. As there is nobody in the world who can vouch stability for you from modded drivers.

Modded drivers are far from perfect. This package for example is missing opencl.

A few more for you.

They're still trying to figure out how to use Joe in Crossfire so it could be a while before we hear from him. He'll probably stutter a lot too.

Well thanks for confusing the hell out of me.

I really need to know one way or another if it's a hardware fault because i plan on selling both cards ASAP.

Am calling hardware issue.. Have you tested one GPU at a time? It only takes one of them to have the problem.

Dude it aint a hardware problem, i had same crap with my 7950 at higher overclock on release of the game but its gone away now. Unless u have some sort of hard evidence that its a hardware problem then please, just dont say anything. Its like u cud be screwing up any potential sale in the MM now

Mate I can have my own opinion on something. Am just saving him wasting time hoping a driver or game patch fixes it..

You said you had high overclock, this can also be the reason for your graphics corruption. An unstable overclock on a gpu does show signs of glitches.

Am willing to be proven wrong on the matter, and that's why I have asked him has he tested these GPUs alone. But everything he has shown me I firmly believe that one his GPUs is damaged.

I'm having the exact same issue on the same games with the same cards. I used both of my cards separately for a week solid and the issue was there on both cards with GTA V and Hardline. I started to play other games whilst using one GPU and there were no problems at all. I had been emailing Matt at the time trying to work out what was wrong and I was informed that they were able to recreate the problem internally on both of these games which rules out a hardware problem.

I have been keeping an eye on this issue for almost 2 months now on various sites and forums, and other people have reported the same problem on the same games with the same cards.

Please stop trying to tell everyone that is having this issue that it is hardware related.

And u guys have 280x's which are 79xx series, mine is 79xx series too so.. yeah. All i did was lower my gaming Core OC by 25Mhz and it pretty much went away.. happens rarely now.

I've just run heaven 4 times in a row and had zero issues. Wouldn't it have started artifacting if it was hardware related?

Man, don't think I could bear the AMD forums, these are bad enough at times!

Also interested as to what Joe will actually do?
Is he basically just going to be an interactive advertisement?
