The AMD Driver Thread

Though there was a game update to stop the artifacting for Xfire setups when using MSAA? Still getting the artifacts in the bottom right hand corner.

Well i found out what was causing my card to get so stupidly hot. For some reason Trixx wasn't setting the voltage correctly on my first card causing the card to go to it's default voltage of 1.256.

It's now happily sat at 1.168v which means it is not MUCH cooler under load.

TBH, I could do with dropping the temp of my msi 290 twin frzr 3 card by a bit! Any ideas what I should set first?

At stock, -25 should be ok. If not, up it a little. You should at the very least get away with -12 at stock clocks.

Check the ASIC rating of the GPU. Higher ASICs should be stable on lower volts.

That is a great ASIC rating, suggesting decent power efficiency of the card components.

You should be able to go -25 at least. Temperatures should also drop a few degrees.

Also remember to up the Power Limit to +25, which appears to help with black screen issues.

thats probably the highest Asic quality I've ever seen mate. Both mine are down in the low 60% region, hence why i need 1.200v to get my overclocks stable.

Get on GTA V you scrub.

Oh nice, seems I got a good 290 then :D

Thanks for the advice again, I will jump on for some GTA 5 now, monitor temps, then try those settings and jump back on and see what the new temps are like, shall report back soon! :)
