The AMD Driver Thread

fresh install of 10 on a new ssd

I'll have a look

Are you running it in Free-sync though? As far as i was aware the 1040 Mod is the only one that has tentative Xfire Free-sync support so in that case the Win U driver wouldn't work.

Windows 10 preview 10162 gave me a new driver package this afternoon, 1023.7, it has further improved pCARS performance on my old cpu limited system.

Does it improve FuryX? There's only one way to find out... Fight! Oh no... ;)

And the sad thing is AMD was demo it to the press as far abck as December and certainly wasnt on 300 series cards..........

Just seen the Frame Limiter thats coming is 300 series only.
There is no reason for this and if it is true then I will be disappointed with AMD. 295x2 is not even that old, they stopped supporting it already is it? lol

I expect every feature to be available unless there is a technical reason, like the 300 series being new architecture etc that enables the options, which is not the case.

Simple reg key to enable frame limiter: (already mentioned in the past. Only visible in ccc for certain cards)
PP_FPSFeatureEnable "1"

puts it in there for 200 series cards

Thanks for that, if you read down Robert Clarifies.

I never said 200 Series wouldn't support it. I only said it was designed for 300 Series. ;)

The cutoff will be 200 Series, but I'm glad 3rd party tools like RTSS exist for savvy users.

Wasn't / was you mean was? he said was designed for the 300 series. :p

Riddle me this.
How could it have been designed for the 300 series when it appeared a long long time ago in 200 series drivers (Which lets face it, are the 300 series :p)?

To me, it's just another attempt at making the 300 series seem better than they are (Which is going to be a struggle)

Again, I'm aware you're quoting and you haven't said X or Y.

Well all I will say is if this is how AMD are going to end up, I will definitely not be sticking with them.

For them to even try that (with holding an extremely basic feature, which should have been added years ago) is extremely frustrating.

I don't know that it appeared in the 200 series drivers, i know they are the same GPU, or they appear to be, yes it looks like 300 series plugging, unless they do appear in the 200 series drivers when the new drivers for it eventually get here.

Right now AMD seem to be concentrating on Win 10, Fiji and 300 series as a Win 10 GPU.

200 series (by name) and Win 8 are left in the dark for now, i think eventually the 300 series things will come to 200 series, right now they just need to sell a few 300 series, they know they will get a backlash if they continue to divide them up once Win 10 goes live.

I think :o

It was months and months and months ago that the 200 series had an FPS limiter. It didn't work mind you.
I think there was a more recent one (Which again, was months and months ago) which did have a working frame limiter though (Or I think it was working).

Not sure what AMD are doing with their products/support for now. But I'll stick it out on my 290X and W10.

AMD would sell more 300 series GPU's if they hadn't lowered their price/performance along the way. All they've done is made buying 290X performance a more expensive prospect (As 290X prices have also risen)
