The AMD Driver Thread

No your not, or perhaps an unrelated issue but i have had that no signal black screen a few times, mainly in my sand Box Editor but never in game so i though it might be a problem with that, and yet then one day it did it in World Of Warships.

And it wasn't that it was just black screening and freezing the PC, sometimes on starting the PC up again the Motherboard wouldn't recognise the GPU, error beeps and lights.

Its strange that it seemed to be totally random, it would go for days without issue and then one day it would do it over and over again.

As i say it only ever did it once in a game, since then i have swapped over the 6 and 8 pin power leads from the PSU, that was a few days ago and its not done it since.

I don't know if any of that is familiar to you? or probably something more serious at my end, i hope not, touch wood.

Thank you for the reply 'bug. :)

I haven't actually had a chance to game yet since getting the new drivers installed, the BSOD just happened out of the blue this morning with just my internet browser open and the black screen happens when waking up from sleep, but it could happen while gaming but have not had a chance to test yet.

I think I will do a DDU sweep and reinstall, and if that fails I will try swapping PCI leads over.

Thanks! :)

cRaptr malware started to annoy me with overlays over the FPS counter from Afterburner. It was telling me to press ctrl and f2 to record. Then, when I exited my game, it bought forth a popup, just like proper malware does. MBAM doesn't see it yet but you can manually remove it. It is malware and should be treated as such. I inadvertently forgot to not install it last time I updated my drivers.

I remember having similar issues with a very old setup many years ago and a 5850. When i changed the PCIe power cables and also changed the plugs that went into the cooler master 1000watt psu everything started to work.. i later found out the old cables were fried in the plugs, totally blackened and also the old inputs on the PSU had totally fried :S.. im surprised the PC lived long enough for me to find out. Never bought a cooler master PSU since lol (not saying they are bad, its just a habit when i have a bad experience). GFX was happy as a clam after all that to the day i bought a new one.

Oh...uh...hmmm :o XFX 750 Pro, 4 years old, i think tomorrow i'm going to strip my PC and have a very close look at all my connectors with a bright light. i did have a quick look at the PSU PCIe connectors, couldn't see any melting but on the GPU 3 of the Pins in the 8 Pin connector are darker than the rest, they are not shiny silver they a dark dull colour.

You do know you can Turn off OSD when Raptr is inactive.. For example Record icon will only show when you press Record!

Popups, Why not take a trip into the settings and choose what popups you want to see? Not hard is it? Crazy I know the software has settings!

The software is fully customization to what you want and don't want to see! Give it another try and this time try to learn around the settings and what it has to offer!

Anyone else on Win10 build 10162, Bf4 alt tabbing crashes game every time . , 15.7, Crossfire 7970s. Grrrr

are you using mantle

Same on both, hangs, takes 30% CPU and goes nowwhere, same if i get kicked from server.

Dont know if AMD or Win10 ( i could take a wild stab in the dark ... ) but after a frustrating afternoon, back to Win7 for a bit, let the ground settle b4 moving to Win10.

Yeah im not sure im going to win10 straight away either.. unless there are some serious performance gains to be had with dx 10/11 games which i highly doubt in my case.

I've been running the preview on my HTPC for a while and its fine, but that's of course a completely different ball game. Oh well.

Thing is, I didn't have this issue before :/ I had it this time (along with blue screens etc.) last year when I first got my 290 but ever since 14.12, it has been pretty good.

Had a good session there and no issues, I did the DDU after that first red screen though.

With 15.6 & 15.7 i get huge frame drops (299 to 10) and stutter in CSGO if i use crossfire, earlier drivers are fine.

Single card works fine on the latest drivers.

I am getting random boot ups with new drivers where I just get a black screen. all 3 monitors are not in standby, but just no desktop.....anyone else?

Is VSR disabled when running mixed resolution Eyefinity Matt? I have a 3x screen 4480x1024 (19"-24"-19") setup and the settings are not in my panels tab in CCC

I am pretty sure it is. I am running 2 1920x1200 monitors and a 4k screen, wanted to use VSR to make eyefinity more usable given the massive pixel density difference between the two, but I can't change it when eyefinity is on :(
