The AMD Driver Thread

Just noticed, i don't have FreeSync with my 2x Furys, Win7 64bit, 15.7 WHQLs, BenQ XL2730Z monitor, its on in the CCC, but not working while gaming, as still getting tearing, any ideas ?

If i put v-sync on in games, i get no tearing, but on my 290X, i used v-sync off in game, FreeSync on in CCC, and got zero tearing.

EDIT: is it this ?

AMD FreeSync™ and AMD CrossFire™ can now be used together in applications using DirectX® 10 or higher. This feature currently does not support systems configured in AMD Dual Graphics mode.

Tried Fear and Fear 2, got tearing, so Xfire can't do Dx9 FreeSync, but single cards can, as my 290X did FreeSync in everything ?

EDIT2: Will disable a card, try a single.

EDIT3: That must be it, disabled Xfire, then FreeSync worked again in Fear, tested by going back in after turning FreeSync off, and got tearing.

EDIT4: Just noticed the Frame Pacing Option, bottom of the 3D Application Settings page in the CCC, On by default, best just left On ?

That makes zero sense.

Freesync and Crossfire can now work together but Freesync can't work with 2 cards ? What The Actual Hell ??? :p

Amdmatt said in regards to frame pacing, on for gaming and off for benchies.

Would that not be counter productive on a 144Hz monitor ?

"15.20.1062.1004-150803a-184226E" was released on Windows 10 Windows Update a little earlier today.

Is there anyway to just update the GPU Drivers in windows 10?

I've disabled automatic device updates, but when i do a check for updates it still downloads and installs the whole lot.

Sorted GTA now, downed and installed the 15.7.1s from the 300 download section, and its flying now, happy days, sorted me mem issue in it :p

Odd thing with Dying Light now though, not long after id started playing, the picture began to shake (although it looked like some kind of graphical effect tbh), and the frame-rate plummeted to about 17, before going back up to normal again, ran around for a bit more, did it again not long after, then i died, started running about again after id came back to life, and it didn't happen anymore, ran about for quite a bit.

These drivers are much better than the 15.7s though, which i had previously installed (which id got from the 200 download section, as downed em when i had me 290 in), as in Dying Light now, im hitting well over 100fps, some places on the 15.7s, i was dropping to around 50, but same places now, im doing about 80+, and i don't get the weird mouse lag either that i had before, even when using FreeSync (which im still using) :D

I still get the quick 2/3 second flickering on the menu screen when i first fire it up as well (which doesn't bother me, as it goes).

Any improvements or is it best to stick with 15.7.1?

There's no real improvements apart from the following, It's still 15.7.1 but with 2 tiny updates -

HOTFIX 8/10/2015 - the driver package has been updated to 15.20.1062.1004 to fix a know issue :
[423311] A TDR error may be experienced when accessing the Windows Metro camera application, the Skype application or the Xbox application

HOTFIX 8/5/2015 - the driver package has been updated to 15.20.1062.1003 to fix a know issue :
[423635] A Blue Screen error may be observed with some Intel+AMD configurations on driver installation.

On a seperate matter I would like to know why FRCT only goes up to 95 instead of 144 ?

Have to disable Xfire to play Fear on these 15.7.1s, otherwise i get random flashing, of what looks like big corrupted squares, just single ones, and they flicker.

Fine on sinlge card :)

Scrap that above, Fears fine with Xfire enabled :)

After id finished playing it, i went for another blast on Dying Light, but me frames were absolutley terrible, just over 60, and dropping to around 47 where i was getting 90/100+ before, so quit it, and on my desktop, just above the clock, i had a blank white rectangular square, that when i hovered over, gave me the spinning circle.

Then on the Task Bar, i noticed my Xonars CP was sitting there, so tried to bring it up on screen, wouldn't have it, eventually it came up about it having a problem and needed a close, which appeared over the blank white rectangular box that was stuck on my screen, so i said close now, it went, fired up DL again, frames back to normal, flying, tried Fear again, no random flashing corrupted box in Xfire, so must have been my Xonar CP buggering up :D
