The AMD Driver Thread

installed these drivers & managed 1 hour in cod ghost without any crashes. Display driver would normally crash after around 15 mins.

windows 10.

Awesome find - I've been playing GTA5 and Ark for 2 hours or so without a single crash on my 390X - these appear to have fixed my issue!

Same here but on MSI 390, couldn't play more than about 5 mins due to ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT crash but just played for a hour or more with no issue

Thanks for the feedback. I'd be interested to know if the issue returns after you all do more testing.

Apparently you can increase the Freesync range with a simple driver mod -

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/ow...rs-can-enlarge-hz-range-with-simple-hack.html

Obviously AMD won't support this but quite cool.

Not that we condone or support this, but it did not work for me on Windows 10.

Just be careful when overclocking monitors. A couple of horror stories with people bricking them about.

So long you don't override the default setting of the monitor you should be fine..

For example when overclocking a Monitor, most new monitors fail safe is 1080p 60hz

If you go adding 1080p 120hz and put this over the top the default one you going to have hard time.
But if you have the new overclocked profile under the default you can just select it inside CCC etc if it works it will work if it don't the monitor will just fall back.

might have to have a go at increasing the freesync range on my 4k. do get a bit of screen tearing when my fps occasionally drops into low 40's, would rather not drop settings down just to avoid the odd screen tear. wonder how much i can get away with though

Add that GTA5 is unplayable on Windows 10 with a 390/390x since June.... err_gfx_d3d_init every single time after 10 minutes of play, still no working driver to this day.

Are the Fury cards affected also?

Wow, glad I came across this. I just installed a 390x thinking it was that causing the issues, done all sorts of re-installing too. Had issues with Dirt Rally too. So I rolled back to .7 or the non beta latest. Seems to be working better anyway.

So 390x owners, just can't play GTA V? Amazing!

Thanks, installed and managed to play dirt rally for a good hour or so. Which was unreachable before. Re-installing GTA V and will give it another try

Installed the new drivers, as above. Similar issues.

Starting to regret getting an AMD card again.

Dirt Rally just crashed again, what a waste of money :(

Well after my earlier post saying the drivers from LoadsaMoneys link seemed to have fixed the err_gfx_d3d_init crash I was getting...i had the crash again. Played a few hours of online yesterday and didn't get the crash. Had some dinner, played about 20 mins of single player and it happened again.

I am using a 3820k cpu at 4.55 Ghz with 32 gb memory, Fury X, running on a Samsung LU32E85KRS/EN 32 UHD GAMING 4K ! screen and don't suffer any problems with BF4, BF3, GTA 5, ROcket league.

The only game I want to see big improvements on is ARK.

I am also wanting a second Fury X so I can knock the visuals up a bit.
