The AMD Driver Thread

How on earth are these things not picked up when the driver goes through QA?

EDIT: Just noticed that once it fills your GPU frame buffer it starts eating into system memory. Only realised that after resizing a bit more to test and my PC black screened as it filled both the GPU and System memory completely.

If I close a game has I normally would Vram remains has normal. If I do what you asked and re-size chrome it fill up full 4GB and a restart is needed.

Edit
Maybe not just noticed its also most 1GB it was 400mb when I looked.. Something isn't right

Next thing is to see how well AMD handle this. Are they going to leave us waiting a month for the next beta driver, or are they going to do a fast hotfix to solve this issue in order to keep their customers happy?

We are aware that some users are experiencing an issue in AMD Catalyst 15.9 Beta that causes all available video memory to be used whilst resizing active browser windows.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and being patient whilst we continue to investigate. We're working on getting it resolved as soon as possible.

For users looking for an alternative driver that does not experience this issue please find Catalyst 15.7.1 located here

I installed the new beta drivers last night. Forgot about them until this evening and had my first ever Windows 10 blue screen blaming a DXGMMS2 which I understand is a DirectX file. This was later followed by CPU usage going overboard until it froze Windows completely and I had to hard reset. Reverted to 15.8 and it's all going smoothly again.

Ouch, Blizzard have issued an official warning to all customers not to use the beta drivers. That's not gonna help brand image :(

Luckily my M8900 is still on the latest drivers from 2013 lol.

AMD Catalyst™ 15.9 Beta Drivers
Hello, Has something been done about the screen corruption issue with Fiji. I still often suffer from the screen shrinking in on itself and being covered in warped lines. It's been an issue for several weeks as you know (We've all spoken about it before) and it's a pain as alt tabbing usually does not work.

It is also not just an issue when using Internet services (as some off us originally thought), It's just a random problem as I've had it happen while browsing the internet, playing games and while working on text files.

I'll ask about this again in the hope of an update on what's being done to fix the issue, It just happened again and it's especially problematic when trying to work on text files. Any news please?

They have said roll back temporarily and they are currently looking into it. The drivers are in beta so kinda says they are work in progress. Kinda speaks for it's self lol.

If we look at it like that then AMD release a couple drivers year, as the rest are "beta".

It's funny how when someone says we have not had a WHQL driver in ages, people come and say WHQL means nothing, beta is the same. Then now things go wrong with a beta, then you get hey, but its "beta" you know? :p

Didn't really have a problem with the previous drivers so not too fussed if the 15.9's are being fixed. I don't think they had any major speed boosts or anything like that. Fable and Starwars aren't out yet for the majority anyway.

It is a BETA driver, but it shouldn't have bugs like that memory leak in it...
