The AMD Driver Thread

You have to click on your cards along the top in the Global Settings (says Global Overdrive), and accept it for it to open.

Alan Wake, cores going anywhere from 300/600+ :(

What happens if you remove MSI AB??

Getting a big boost here with the new drivers. I was getting max of 120fps yesterday in blops now it's sitting happy at 155/160 then i turned on vsync and sat at 144fps on max with crossfire, cards sitting at about 75% usage! Happy Sam :D

Performance is good but it's hard to notice any actual difference. The drivers themselves are likely very similar to the old ones anyway.

But the new configuration software it utterly terrible. The layout is shocking with menus, settings and things all over the place for no real reason. Never thought they could make CCC worse but they have.

EDIT: The UI flickers in places in Fallout 4, especially the compass. Nice one AMD.

Back on the 15.9.1 BETAs, and cores are back locked at 1040Mhz. :D

What a faff on ive had though, uninstalled Crimsons, but after they uninstalled, was just stuck on a black screen, tried the old enter a few times to restart, wouldn't have it, mouse just blinked 3 times as normal when restarting etc..., but it wouldn't, had to hard restart, start windows normal.

Crimsons were off, so installed 15.9.1s again, went in fine, but after the restart, windows just loaded up hung, had no mouse pointer, just my desktop, couldn't do anything, CTRL+ALT+DEL, nowt, hard restarted again, then after the spinning balls, went into a bloody CHKDSK, after that finished and it had restarted again, windows loaded to a black screen, so had to turn my monitor off/on to get the picture, where i was greeted with the Xfire detected box, and all working fine, phew.

Don't know, as i wouldn't be able to see the OSD without it, so wouldn't know if the cores were locked or anything.

EDIT: Just Tried Alan Wake again, cores lock to 1040 straight away.

I no longer get any stuttering at the start of battlefront at all. Happy with that.

Just noticed that, :D I also noticed performance a little higher where I was around 70s am now 80s tested in same spot yesterday.

Just tested the new Freesync and they is a noticeable change here when dropping below 40hz

Just for testing use another program that just monitors in the background.. GPUz and MSI AB are reporting wrong driver so I have a feeling they not playing nice.

UI change I do like it but I can also see where people are coming from. I think we just not used to it yet after so long with CCC.
I really like just how fast and simple it is..

I never noticed what AB was reporting as the driver. :p

just tried Fallout 4 with Afterburner running and all good

my max clock seems to stick (there abouts it always wavers slightly)

1440p VSR'd down to 1080p - my preferred settting

Wonder if its a prob with AB then, ahh well, i can wait, as everything works fine on the 15.9.1s.

It's a pretty poor show from AMD. My PC couldn't be any more basic. It's a 4790k, 8gb's of ram, Win 10 pro and one Fury tri-x. Nothing unusual yet Crimson seems awfully slow if you have a lot of games installed. I have 6 tb's of HDD space with over 1000 games installed on it and moving between windows in Crimson has a delay which has an 'it isn't responding' message if you get impatient and press it again. There's at least a 6 or 7 second delay before anything you do gets a response. RAPTR was quicker as was CCC ffs.

I don't run Afterburner usually. I noticed the fps was below 30 when it's usually above 60 because it was not smooth so using Steams in game fps counter it told me it was that low so I ran gpu-z which told me it was hanging around at 300 to 500 on the core.

I then started Afterburner to see if it could be pushed up by adding a small over clock but it did nothing so I put it all back to stock turned the pc off and turned it back on after dinner to try again.

It was still the same.

Anyone else getting bad tearing in Fallout 4 with the new Crimson drivers? Freesync enabled but I get this horrible tear line pretty much dead centre horizontally on my screen.

No settings changed other than the new drivers

I only reinstalled AB when i got my Furys to check the temps, see if they were ok in Xfire.

Only game that seemed to lock my core at 1040 was The Evil Within, everything else was just a constant up and down, up and down, oh, and Firestrike must have locked as well, as i got a slightly higher score, but its no good if its not games :(

Im still on Win 7 btw.
