The AMD Driver Thread

No no no. No! This is not recommended at all, it can cause problems especially when switching from Catalyst to Crimson.

I realise that you are going to reply with but it's never caused me any problems doing it this way. :p

Do it Kun, I'll be there. Please give me notice though, not at the last minute. :D

If you're not supposed to install over the top, why do the driver say things like "Upgrade display driver to version X" if you do a custom install and select a component?
Surely that's an odd thing to build into the drivers if it's not what you're supposed to do?

At least you know the reply. Although I was talking more with standard installs, not particularly the twice in a lifetime driver "family" switch

7 years lucky then I guess

No issues with afterburner here, afaik, there is nothing else out there that comes close, at least not an AIO package that does the following:

- shows CPU + GPU + RAM info. in game
- allows me to undervolt to -31mV (drastically reduces my temps + fan speed)
- cap FPS (more rivatuner this though)
- take high quality screenshots

Consider yourself lucky, buy an extra lottery ticket next week.

It's not uncommon for us to have the odd known issue in our release notes that is caused by people installing one driver over another.

think this driver has absolutely knackered Crossfire. Dont understand why there is now no option to enable crossfire with no profile

I just noticed under the crossfire section, there is now no option to "Enable CrossfireX for applications that have no associated application profile"? Theres just on or off now, everyone else the same?

Hows the ratio look to those bugs induced by knackered installs for using DU?

Especially since windows installs over the top as well...

Never heard of DU, but it's not AMD software that I do know.

Windows 10 has a habit of randomly installing drivers and overwriting existing ones. It causes no end of problems, and as my job is solving problems, I speak from experience.

I'm really ******off with amd and their drivers in recent times, what with these Crimson drivers I can't boot up unless I goin safe mode and roll back to 15.11, also I cant even finish farcry 4 because it won't startup with crossfire enabled that's not to mention no crossfire profile for SWBF even though it was working in the beta.
I think my next cards are nvidia, I know they aren't perfect but what boils my **** is they promote crossfire with their dual gpu cards and they just don't support it like they should, if they fix one thing in a driver it breaks another 5 things.

Does anyone know if this is a driver/cable/card issue - I keep getting a grey bar flicker on the screen for a split second. I don't think it's solid grey, maybe grey with tiny coloured squares, it's difficult to tell! it's usually about 10% of the screen height and is always around the middle to top third of the screen.

It happens randomly, sometimes it can happen once or twice in a couple of hours, sometimes it can do it every few minutes or so, there doesn't appear to be any specific pattern. I also get a black screen for a second or two every now and then. I've only noticed it in games, but it happens in all games i've played recently.

I'm using the latest beta drivers and hot fix, but it's happened for the past couple of driver updates. I used DDU and reinstalled the Crimson drivers but it's still the same.

Just install over the top.

I dont this on the mrs 390 when doing from cat to crim, OMG what a mess. COuld not run any game without screen going black had major problems solving it. DDU then reinstalled and fixed it. I now ALWAYS use DDU when changing AMD drivers and it seems to work a lot better.

I just uninstall through the AMD Install Manager, never had a prob, only problem i have with the Crimsons is the core clock bouncing, so can't use em, and thats just one of the many problems they have, as they're too broken.

They've gone backwards, as the last set of performance boosting, major bug fix drivers were the Omegas, and they were perfect, should have carried on doing those like they were going to, but they scrapped them, as per, as they always start things they don't finish for something else, remember those other performance drivers they started before those, the Mjölnirs, that were coming in 3 parts, im sure we only got part 1 before they moved on.

Can AMD not even fix their own damn site so that I can download the drivers....

Tried 3 browsers now, when I choose the stuff and hit display results, nothing happens, tried incognito mode too.

You don't need to go through the drop down mate.. All I do is if you look down the right hand side of the page you see the driver is sectioned off based on the GPUs

So I would download Windows 10 64bit under section Radeon™ R9 200, R7 200, HD 8500 - HD 8900, and HD 7700 – HD 7900 Series
