The AMD Driver Thread

Nvidia on the ball again, just brought out a new driver for the upcomming games Tomb Raider and The Division with supposedly a SLI profile for TD. I think I know what the answer to this next question is, but anything from AMD??

I really hope we get a tomb raider and the division driver today like Nvidia have done.
Tomb raider unlocking tonight and the division beta this weekend. Its needed.

So are we getting Tomb raider driver in the next couple of hours ready for launch or do we have to wait weeks or even months, another nail in the coffin if they mess up this one.

the actual pc version doesn't have any DX12 as of now, and while the Xbox did have AsyncCompute, the pc doesn't. However, they did contact Square Enix and they said, that the game will support DX12_1 features that as of now are only supported by nVidia Maxwell gpus.

AMD really need to fix the desktop screen corruption bug, it happens a lot when using remote desktop and Logmein! Its making work a lot more stressful and it never happened when I was using a 290X. Wish I never got this Fury, had way too many desktop issues. If it’s not fixed soon I am going to go back to my 290 until the next upgrade.

^^

If that is true..... then bahahahaha, that just shows her dirty nvidia really are and people say they aren't harming the gaming industry at all

:p

Essentially, any dx 12 title that will have ASC support will quickly be bought/sponsored by nvidia and then they will "advise" what is best for performance on only their GPU's.... Now I understand why all of a sudden tomb raider became a gameworks title in the last few months. Remember kids, money conquers all.

Tomorrow game is released. I expect drivers tonight or tomorrow on release.

Sweeeeet!

And yeah, I hope for AMD's sake they get drivers out tonight/tomorrow otherwise I can see this being the last straw for quite a few, especially crossfire users.

Those benchmarks look horrible for AMD, Hopefully it's just a driver needed. If it's all games works stuff again crippling performance on competitors hardware something needs looking at.

Sounds a bit childish but it doesn't seem fair to the consumer but I guess the responsibility is with the developer but they see them £££ signs being offered and take the easy money.

Can't believe I'm saying it after how long they made us wait for GTA V but rockstar got it right! at least that ran well on AMD/NVIDIA.

It is the AMD driver. They were using the preview driver for the game from nvidia which dropped earlier today. While using the current AMD Beta driver.

Mauller has it right, it's just AMD lacking a driver.

The game barely has any Gameworks tech. It has HBAO+ and that's about it, while the big game changer is AMD Pure Hair a derivative of TressFX. So in fairness there's more impressive AMD tech in there than NVIDIA.
I hope AMD get the driver out with XFIRE profiles either before launch, or just after it.

Yeah, thanks nvidia :(

Pretty much.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy a Pascal GPU when they are released, since money talks and **** walks in this world.

Even though I despise NVIDIA's actions, unless you want to screw yourself over in DX12 games you'll need an NVIDIA GPU.

^^

And that is exactly why nvidia get away with **** like this :p

I would like to go nvidia but I refuse to support their practices (especially if they don't add and announce support for adaptive sync with their next GPU's), same way I refuse to buy apple products. If/when AMD go under, I think that will be the final nail in the coffin for me and I really believe it will be the beginning of the end for PC gaming overall.
