The AMD Driver Thread

Drivers seem to be working ok for me, the profiles have vanished but all my games seem to be working as normal, just set a global overclock for now untill they come back. :)

You can manual add them by clicking add and then adding the .exe file. Its what i do because my games are on different drives and radeon settings doesn't always pick them up.

Rise of Tomb Raider, Soviet Installation.

Game constantly hitting 58ms. It's unplayable.

Looks like clock fluctuation fix made things only worst.

in csgo its made a improvement, before it would drop as low as 500mhz now doesn't go below 1000mhz but does at some points drop a fair bit but goes back up again

This workaround is essentially using Radeon Settings like we used to use CCC, and in the grand scheme of things it isn't a big issue. That said, the game detection is a nice-to-have feature and its a shame to see the newest version has this regression.

Yup, ive always had to manually add half my games anyway as theyve never been detected, no rush though as all the games are working fine, ill just leave it untill they get added back in. Only thing im using the profiles for is overdrive.

Strange question, hopefully isn't just me...

Why does the CCC icon on the taskbar think I have about 6 graphics cards installed? it's happened for years and years on every PC I've had with an AMD graphics card; even my parents PC with a built in AMD 3200 IGP apparently has two of them! It's only the icon that does it, CCC itself is fine...

Power Efficiency Toggle: A new feature introduced in the Radeon™ Settings Gaming tab for select AMD Radeon™ 300 series and AMD Radeon™ Fury X available under “Global Options”. This allows the user to disable some power efficiency optimizations.
OK. Now Iunderstand, what's going on..
It seems like I must upgrade to 390x bios now. Because load fluctuation become even worse with 16.3

BTW. Is there news about optimization game profile for new NFS game?
Is it coming, or it already exists in current drivers? Vulkan/Mantle support may be?

Question: Why does my GPU in work (HD 7750) show the power efficiency option, but my GPU at home (290x) does not?

Also, I'm having the same issue with games not showing up in the Gaming section.

EDIT: clicking the option in the 7750 makes the button disappear :D:p

I think it's showing potential monitor connections, rather than GPUs from what I remember. I don't have the CCC icon to check and it doesn't seem to do it on the new Radeon Settings icon.

Still getting stuttering in GTA5 with the new drivers, power saving on or off. R9 390. Works AOK with Clockblocker running.

Was so hoping for The Division crossfire hotfix before the weekend, looks like that's to optimistic, all a bit quiet around various forums.

Crossfire is a two way party you have amd and then you have ubisoft. Amd matt said before game launch 16.2 crossfire was working so they looking into it with developer and seeing if game patch is needed or driver update.

That was last I heard.

How's other games running now Tony?

some games run fine without forcing the clocks via 3rd party software but others throttle my clock speeds still. Games run fine, there is a way to deal with it, it's no biggie just would have been nice without the hastle of forcing core clocks with other software for all games and not just some.

I was talking about when you tried without using MSI AB frame rate limit and that worked for you. You said you was going to try other games but didn't report back.

You guys do know you can run Rivatuner without AB dont ya? I use RT to limit framerates and show OSDs but i havent used AB in a while.

In my experience Crossfire is normally a bit of a laggy/stuttery affair without some form of frame limiting.

Why someone use rivatuner to limit fps when crimson drivers have that ability also to be set globaly and per application?

yeah when the profiles come back up ill let the drivers do it, had rivatuner profiles set up for years though so theres no point doing them again atm.
