The AMD Driver Thread

It's the truth man lol

I'm absolutely blown away by the 56% usage on both my cards for The Division lol.

At least Ubi & AMD are trying to get Division working. Just Cause 3 came out 1st December, was immediately confirmed as being incompatible with multi-GPU and everyone has just ignored it's existence since then. Shame, I love the game but could be with being able to run both cards to get the framerate up in the 60s+ across 3 screens.

I have to admit on the latest drivers I am quite impressed how my single 7950 is holding up....I swear its smoother in PCars too

Me too, there is definitely an increase in performance across the board of about 5% in DX12. Doesn't sound a lot but there are also increases in minimum frame rates which is what counts for smoother game performance. Still nice to see increases in performance though. Kudos to RTG for that. :D

Take a look at the link that Shanks put up of the Overclockers review of 16.4.2

Okay, just to save you the effort of looking for it

Good for single card users but for MGPU users, still not so good :(

I was excited to see the improvement to Rise of the Tomb Raider after reading that review as I have a Fury X. My benchmark gain on both DX11 & 12? 0.4 of a frame. That is running at 3440x1440p.

Crysis 2 crashes for me on the latest drivers, anyone else got the game installed that could try it.

Was working fine before I installed the latest WHQL and then the beta's
Latest drivers and Crysis 2 Maximum Edition and no crashes after 10 mins of gameplay (resumed game).

Crossfire - the ultimate disappointment.

It never use to be, it went from meh, to glorious, and then fell off a cliff.

Now with DX12 AMD can't even do it through the drivers anymore, developers need to get the support right from the start. I really hope them pushing mGPU for the future works right. Although I suspect they'll need to work closely with developers a lot more.

yep. It's going through some strange phases, was average when it launched, gradually improved to what I would say the best period around 18 months to 2 years ago. Every game you threw at my 7950 crossfire setup was mindblowingly fast, every new game had a excellent profile that worked with no issues. Then it started to slip to where it is today which is the worst I've seen it. Yes it still works on older titles and probably fine in around 75% of my games, but any title that's new you can just about forget crossfire working at a decent level.

It might as well be called Missfire now, it's so bad for new titles.

Is there anyway to disable the update checker? I made sure to untick the options during install but it still prompts me to update when a new driver is released. I don't feel I need to update that often seeing how well my 7950 is still performing.
