The AMD Driver Thread

Hi,
How does Just Cause 3 run on single AMD cards?

Very nicely on my R9 390

Agreed - runs smoothly at 30-40FPS at maximum settings (think I might have dropped AA down a notch or two, but can't remember) at 5760x1080 on a single R9 290. Looking up at the sky gives over 60FPS, and a busy firefight on the beach can drop the frame rate to 20s, but usually it's around 40FPS at most times.

I'm sure it would be easy enough to get 60FPS constantly by dropping resolution or quality settings, but when the game's THAT beautiful, I just can't bring myself to do it. :D

Love the game. Now if only the game engine supported multi-GPU, I'd be laughing.

Quote from the driver page

1) Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs as of April 3, 2016

Interesting they had both 16.4.2 and these 16.5.1 drivers and the game all available a month ago. Hopefully thats a good sign it will run well.

Just installed, can't get my second card working for toffees. Everything stays at zero usage even on benchmarks. Disabled ulps in msiab, changed ulps mode in regedit and tried using trip, 2nd card is flat out refusing to do anything.

Will keep persevering.

Has anyone had crossfire success with Battleborn?

AFR friendly is a no-go. I'd like to try a Borderlands 2 profile, but don't seem to have the option to select other profiles any more...

Tony why do you still mess with ulps if you don't mind me asking?
That used to be the norm way back on the 7000 series but I sure now you don't need to disable this anymore.

Yeah just Forza Release driver

Gotta give some credit here to this driver and how well Forza Apex runs. I was really dreading not being able to use crossfire on this one, just couldnt see how I was going to max out the game at 1440p and keep 60fps. Well, even on a single 390, everything turned to ultra with 4xmsaa added at 1440p, this game is purring along. I've no way of measuring frames as no overlay seems to work, but from experience this feels like its a solid 60fps at all times.

Very impressed with the 390 here on this one.

Nice might give this a try.

This might be why (not saying it's a bad thing)

That's not the reason YB2. I don't use any dynamic settings in the menu. I have manually turned all the dynamic options off and manually bumped everything to Ultra or the highest possible setting. So the game isn't cleverly adjusting to keep 60fps, the game is just totally maxed out on custom settings.

It's just a very solid well optimised game.

Forza Apex runs good because of effective M$ utilization of DirectX 12 ? !!!
