The AMD Driver Thread

And don't expect crossfire out the gate :(

or dx12 for that matter :( :( (which I know isn't amd fault)

Wasn't there a benchmark released a few days ago with close to 100% CF scaling? No clue how reliable it is, so don't shoot me if CF is totally broken on release.

Performance does seem really crappy all around though.

Thanks for the benchmarks graph, i'll take them with a pinch of salt tho :) Would be nice to see AMD actually release crossfire drivers (on time) on a big release like this. Hoping to run this decently on crossfire 290s. Still no sign of drivers tho...

tried reinstalling the AMD drivers after the update? using something like ddu to remove the drivers first then install the new ones.

I resolved my problem .. I feel incredibly stupid because the fix was so easy ... I didn't have Frame Rate Target Control enabled ... now set to my native refresh rate the game runs effortlessly! thanks for help! I'm always checking here for drivers.

I have a really annoying crash in Radeon Settings. If I open Wattman then close the window, then later I open the window up again from the task bar icon and try to go back into Wattman, I get a "Radeon Settings stopped working" error. After restarting the program manually I can open Wattman again.

This is on Windows 10 with all the latest updates.

Yup ! Usual bull, funny nvidia had their SLI driver out days in advance eh. Buy two 480 says AMD, aye right !

What ever happened to the NVIDIA driver for better Vulkan performance in DOOM though? They promised that well before the game was out; it never came; despite NVIDIA demo'ing the game on Vulkan at GDC for the 1080 announcement.

It goes both ways mate, but AMD do deliver; and in this case the game is such a broken mess performance wise I don't have an issue with AMD taking their time to get things right.

Especially since DX12 isn't even fully implemented in Deus Ex yet.

DE is an AMD partnered game, so you would have thought they would have had an optimised driver to go with it, no?

Why would they need more time since they have been involved with the game from the inset?

Broken mess? Running fine for me.

Broken mess? Running fine for me.

Hardly the case for the vast majority of PC gamers all over the net.

Game barely keeps a stable 60fps for a new Titan X in 1080p, with minimums in the low 20's often; and SLI scaling isn't good either if you look at what Kaapstad is showing with his Titan X rigs.

Nothing AMD does is going to help that much until Nixxes; the porting team sorts out the game.

Also having an AMD logo on it doesn't mean much; just like an NVIDIA logo didn't help Batman Arkham Knight. There's only so much influence either can have in the actual development of the game, especially when it's also a port which is unfinished.
It uses DX12 on Xbox, but that code base isn't even finished on the PC version yet.

AMD have put out quite a lot of drivers lately, addressed hardware power issues and more. I don't see the issue with waiting for something decent when the game itself is broken.

AMDMatt, is it no longer possible to access the advanced settings Catalyst tab from Crimson?

I've connected a second monitor and I want to make sure I'm outputting full RGB range but cannot figure out how.

Thanks

EDIT: Scrap that, just found it in the Preferences tab right after posting. Weird place for it IMO
