The AMD Driver Thread

Bit of generic statement here. I keep getting notifications to update my drivers. But the update is to a beta driver. I really don't think AMD should be forcing beta drivers on the general public. Yes beta drivers should be available for those that need them / search for them. But they shouldn't be pushed out with notifications as if they are a true finished driver. Bad stuff AMD.

The drivers are finished. They have not went to Microsoft for certification is all. I can't remember the last whql driver I used and just because they are whql means nothing really. You can turn notifications off in Crimson if you don't want the notification.

It says optional and no one is being forced to install them and i disagree that users should have to keep searching for them.

Well my windows flashes up with a massive message from Gaming evolved saying "New AMD graphics driver available, update your system now"

Nowhere does it say optional. A user who didn't know much about PC's would install that. And it';s a beta driver. I have not opted into any beta program. I think that's wrong.

Important but off topic info

Just a heads up for everyone, From today the UBI30 promotional offer of a free game every month is the relatively new game 'The Crew'

I tried the demo a while back and this partially open world racer isn't bad and being free makes it a must get even if you don't plan on downloading today, Just get it tied to your account and it's there for life.

Thanks got that sorted. No harm in having it on the list.

In crimson its says optional and just like installing the 3rd party Gaming evolved client is optional and users of the Gaming evolved client are more likely to be gamers thus want the optimization for new game releases and existing games as soon possible and not have to wait up to an additional 30 days for WHQL on top of however long it took to get the driver ready.
