The AMD Driver Thread

So.. i'm getting the notification below every once in a while. What's the consensus? A cable problem?
D4Cz6ZM.png

It's the MSI RX480 connected to an LG 29UM68-P monitor. Freesync seems to work (it's set to on in AMD Settings) and the monitor is operating at it's native resolution. The notification is annoying though...

@AMDMatt, when AMD plans to put an easy access to disable ULPS? We have to modify the registry right now. Neither MSI AB nor Trixx working any more.

Also.
Why when trying to do benching with 3d Mark benchmarks, on the R9 Nano, the speed is never the maximum speed set on MSI AB? Even when I am with stock speed, it never gets to 1000 core. Is always between 850-900 regardless. While when gaming all the games (except WoT see bellow) are at full overclock constantly at 1145/550 in my case.

If you believe is temperatures, I doubt there is a temp throttling at 17C (WC card), while using a 6700K @ 4.9Ghz, so no issues with grunt power there.
Using the 16.11.5 after clean windows installation

Finally. The only game that I get black screens while any AMD card is overclocked is World of Tanks. This issue existed both with the 295X2 (when running 1 core since it doesn't support CF), the R9 Nano and the ancient 7950 when I had it. This issue never existed with any NV card used since 2011, and was heavily overclocked also, 560,580,660Ti, 780, 1080

Getting the same thing on recent drivers with a Sapphire 380 and a Samsung monitor using DP.

While i have not had to do it i think you have to do it through windows. Basically right click on desktop and go to display settings. Then hit advanced settings.

Thanks. I assumed it was running at 1440p (which it was), though I wasn't as sure about the refresh rate. All sorted now. :)

I've already relayed some of the most common requests for new features, but if you have any contributions here would be a good place to post them. ;)

The recording tool by AMD and not 3rd party..its like top notch request everywhere

Amd is looking in this ''request'' thread for sure?

Enjoy, it was tough keeping some of these new features a secret Lol. :p

For me the most exciting new features are borderless/windowed FreeSync and Wattman/voltage control for my Pro Duo's. :)

Just wondering does Wattman offer better OC ability on Fury than Afterburner?

OC ability won't change. It's possible to use more voltage with Afterburner, though this shouldn't come as a surprise and AB will still appeal to extreme overclockers more than Wattman.

GCN 1.1 and newer GPUs have 7 clock/voltage states and Wattman allows you to set each one independently, allowing more 'fine tuning'. Afterburner applies a global change and so any voltage increase/decrease is applied to each state. For example, you add +50mv in AB and it gets applied to idle voltage too.
