The AMD Driver Thread

Infinite war is Rubbish tbh. I liked BO3 and think it's a much better game. Infinite war feels similar but the Map design is where it lets itself down badly. Lucky for me i only rented it on the Ps4 to see if it was any good. Played one night with my mates and sent it back. The version i rented never had the MW remaster which is as hame as many think they should have just concentrated on that game and added stuff in.

Bf1 is a far superior shooter to infinite war and i think next years Cod has to be much better or i won't be buying that either.

I don't bother with Multiplayer, I'll only do the campaign, I haven't got BO3 yet. I only bought Infinite first as I was getting the Modern Warfare remastered with it. I'll probably grab BO3 once I've completed these.

its lowers the temps by slowing the card down when you aren't moving in a game. Definitely not going to make the card faster. It's just dynamic underclocking

I know that, I mean that because it's dynamically underclocking throughout gaming, temperatures will build a little less and power usage might be down a bit too. So will this help maximum overclocks go a little higher because of this is more of my question.

There's a little less stress on the VRMs and core and possibly a little more headroom as a result?

No. At the clocks it needs to maintain even a lower fps under 3d load it will not drop the temps far enough to give you extra headroom with oc. Also going up and down in frequency all the time tends to make overclocks less stable. That's why the Ln2 bios on evga classified cards lock them at a constant speed and why when pushing high overclocks for benchmarks you disable power saving features on cpu's.

As for the VRM on the rx480 it's so overkill that it wouldn't make any difference.

All running fine so far with ReLive here (Fury Pro). So is it mainly older cards getting issues i.e. 290/390/X ?

Done a few small test runs with recording with a camera view of myself in shot and it seems to work well and quick to setup. Obviously I am sure there are numerous tweaks to tinker with but as for a 30 second setup to see how it performs then all is good with me. Hope everyone gets all your different bits sorted soon.
:)

Yep on it. Will be fixed, stay tuned for an update.

Are you guys working on fixing the ping/network issues too?

Morning chaps.

Anyone had issues with silly high ping when enabling relive?

Installed the update yesterday and played some overwatch, everything was running smooth at around 29ms. Today however, i have set up relive and now my pings around 300+ms!! Even when not streaming it doesn't come down.

You on wireless by any chance?

My wireless connection went to ****, it seemed like the ping was really high at times, so bad that players in the division would freeze and die 5 seconds later from an entire mag I put into them...

Switched to hard wire connection, no problems.

I am back on 16.11.5 due to having 2 lockups yesterday and wireless network is back to how it was before the relive drivers

Since Friday, I had periodically lag spikes on World of Tanks. From the usual 30-35ms spikes at 175ms and drop down again. And they were always at the same period. Thought it was the game as others complained.

However this morning, which still I had those lag spikes, and reading above, decides to uninstall, then use the new DDU which is compatible with Relive, to remove anything left and re-install without relive.

No lag spikes on WOT. Yes I use wifi, but could it be the WOT recording system. I do not know. But without AMD relive I had no issue those few hours.
Also I have wiped out the xbox dvr also when I put windows months ago.

Some posts on reddit about it too.

Im having audio sync issues with ReLive recordings.. happens after about 15 minutes into recording (tried multiple configs, with both AVC and HEVC)..

back to OBS Studio then :(

Edit.. yep i guess i gotta stick with OBS Studio as i cant change gamma for recording or streaming within the Driver/ReLive.. nice idea, but if they cant get the basics in there from the start then im not interested.

Btw, using the gamma option in Windows doesnt do **** for streaming.

Good job AMD.
