The AMD Driver Thread

LOL your edit just came through as I was quoting your post!

Nah, If I was you, I would wait for a few revisions of the Adrenalin drivers before switching. You have a custom card don't you? So 17.11.4's are probably the best ones for you.

I won't be able to help out with testing anymore as I sold my Vega card on Monday to a miner and now have a 1080Ti.

Fair play, If not for Freesync I'd be tempted to sell mine and grab a Ti too. I've just had to replace my motherboard which failed, I wish it'd waited another few months so that I could have replaced it with one of the next 470 m/b's along with my Ryzen cpu refresh, still it wasn't an overly expensive motherboard and I can sell whatever they replace the dead one with under warranty..

Have you tried playing around with Hyperthreading? Limiting the game to 1-4 CPU threads? Disconnecting two of your other displays?

Limited it to 4 in Set Affinity and never seen it run so stuttery lol Tried just running one monitor ages ago too, nothing changed but for streaming thats just not an option anyways.

I've also tried Unpark-CPU combinations with different Power options in the past.

Seems like in game settings dont matter, i can run maxed out with no AA quite easily but the stuttering will start at some point.. can also set everything to High with Medium AA with same results and even lowest potato settings will give me the same thing.. stutter eventually shows up.

Its the fact that when the stuttering starts, most of the time if i tab out and in again or just change a setting it'll go away for a bit, its a strange one for sure.

Anyway setting DayZ_64.exe to High Priority in Task Manager does seem to help a little, or at least delays the inevitable

Your motherboard failed? Man, you are one of the unluckiest guys I know when it comes to computer hardware :(

Onto the new driver 18.1.1 and so far no crash with Forza. Played over one hour so far today.

I tried it and went back to 17.11.4 within a few hours. I'm not sure what's meant to have been fixed but it didn't seem like any of the issues I'd reported have been fixed. I think there's a reason this release is still called 18.1.1 beta like it was before they pulled down it a week or so ago, They've done sweet F.A to it. :D

:D

I hope so :)

Sucks for me since I have two monitors but this sounds like the issue I was having with my monitor switching between 57 and 144 Hz, although it continued even after closing the "fullscreen game". Hopefully they solve it soon.

How can i monitor my refresh rate on my FreeSync display while in-game? This might be my issue with DayZ stuttering.. i have 3 monitors.

I feel like i need to test with just my FreeSync display running on its own to see if i still get stuttering running the one screen.

My monitor's OSD shows the current refresh rate, maybe yours does too?

It does yea, but i never see it change. Seems like it locks to whatever i set FRTC to.

I suppose i dont have this issue if it isnt changing.. i duno lol
If it's constantly locked to the FRTC then either FreeSync isn't working or it isn't needed because your GPU can pump out frames fast enough to always reach the FRTC.

Nice, looks like these latest drivers have fixed the ~20% performance drop I was having in Superposition with every driver since 17.12.1.
Quick run shows score to be back to what I was getting on 17.11.4, so looks like I can finally move off of those drivers! :)

Now if they could just roll in the mining improvements from the blockchain drivers I'd be v.happy.

i really hope one day they will fix the flickering in fifa 18 during cut scenes its been going on for a longtime now and was even present in 17 for me also, it's literally the only game i have this problem with and on two different cards too my 480 and the vega 64. never had the issue in game with my two 1060's, 1070 or 1080. so it it really is a amd issue.
