The AMD Driver Thread

Using 19.9.2 - and it's done it again, back to default voltages on boot up this morning. :(

Maybe your undervolt is unstable? Does it do the same at default voltages?

Have your turned off fastboot under Windows advanced power settings? Have you done a clean install or used the latest DDU?

Are you using DDU uninstaller?

I tend not to use that unless I have to. Uninstalled it and made sure no windows 10 auto installed AMD drivers either. Given the issue seems to be intermittant, can't see it being a driver conflict.

Did you turn off Windows 10 Fast Boot?

Mentioned this previously. Yup - or rather confirmed that it's already off. Disabling hibernation also disables it.

I actually ran at 960mv for a good while without issue from when I got it at launch. Thoroughly tested too. Running at 970mv to be on safe side.

Booted up this morning and undervolt setting still there, so doesn't always do it.

Not sure what you mean by at default voltages - it's been running fine regardless, and can't tell if it looses it's voltages settings at default as it will return to same value?

I'm not overclocking - bar undervolt everything is defaults. Guess I may just have to put up with the extra noise and leave at stock voltage.

I did have a few in July/August but that was mainly down to Wattman/monitoring temps and usage etc not crashing in games or black screens. Everything is fine now for me, just needed a fair few revisions!! :)

You might eventually get some working drivers soon. Steves had a word :p

Didn't know they were so broken

Had no issues with AMD drivers. That "Driver Stopped" is when your overclock failed and the driver crashes instead of the system.
A great feature added on Dec 2018 drivers, similar to the one Nvidia had for long time and since 2014 if remember correctly, so the system wont blue screen as until that point was doing.

Do you know when was the last time actually had to answer a genuine issue about the drivers and not the mistake of the end user? October. And was the n-th time the card reported with issue was an Evoke. Hence wrote several times, stay away from this card.

Yeah no mention of the dark screen bug after installing 2020 type drivers with my vega 56 and my Q3279VWFD8. :( Dont think ill even try them to see if its fixed but not mentioned as so far touch wood the computers ok atm.

Just tested Borderlands 3 on 20.1.1 but exactly the same issue as 19.12.2 and 19.12.3 which is that it drops 4 fps (from 64 to 60) compared to 19.12.1 and earlier drivers. Same Wattman profile, same settings and no new features enabled, but still drops 6% of my game performance. Reverting back to 19.12.1 tomorrow and that's me done with this 2020 driver and wont bother upgrading again until I stop playing BL3. Raging

So my powercolor 5700 just arrived and will be installing it tonight. Haven't kept up with drivers release as still using a fury X.

Currently using an omen 32 freesync monitor. Ddu still the best option?
