While AMD driver are apparently good I don't believe there's HDMI 2.1 support.
I play a lot of GamePass games currently, which I don't work on Linux.it's coming along

i personally use fedora workstation after multi booting that with win10 /11 for years. fully switched over at some point last year.
you might be surprised at how smooth things can be on a linux desktop, though it helps to be open to learning new ways of getting things done, like the repository paradigm, having drivers included with the OS etc.
you absolutely will find access to some big multiplayer games as an issue. it's unlikely you'll see access to fortnite, call of duty, and battlefield (even though it was accessible in the past when they used EAC).
i gave up destiny 2, pubg, apex (even though they also originally supported play through proton) etc to switch, and i haven't missed them.
next fest is on yet again, and i don't even think about the OS i'm using as i haphazardly grab a bunch of demos to check out.
we're not allowed to support this directly; we attempted to in the past and were shot down by the HDMI forum.I play a lot of GamePass games currently, which I don't work on Linux.
But to keep on topic, do you mean that the AMD linux drivers might soon support HDMI 2.1?
I'm not overly attached to HDMI, it's just that monitor manufacturers seem to like them far more than DisplayPort as they seem to give us 1 DisplayPort and 2 or 3 HDMI (while GPU manufacturers seem to go the opposite).we're not allowed to support this directly; we attempted to in the past and were shot down by the HDMI forum.
this separate module may provide support that circumvents that imposition.
yeah i don't use it on desktops and like to avoid it in general. been eyeing up a massive pc monitor to replace the tv for the living room htpcI'm not overly attached to HDMI, it's just that monitor manufacturers seem to like them far more than DisplayPort as they seem to give us 1 DisplayPort and 2 or 3 HDMI (while GPU manufacturers seem to go the opposite).

I regret buying the pile to be honest lolmore pain than it's worth imoI couldn't play BF6 for starters

Thanks! I missed 26.2.2 release. Only just realised! Grabbing these now for my 6900XT - given they have Res Evil support (although I've been fine on 26.1.1).AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition
Revision Number
Adrenalin 26.2.2 (WHQL
I noticed a couple of big spikes in arc but wasn't sure if i just needed to play through the levels a bit to build up cachesgetting some strange performance with my 9070XT and latest drivers
Arc Raiders much more laggy - not sure if the game update or driver update
weird Vsync issues - in Vulkan but maybe wider than that
for the latter one - turn on AMD OSD and instantly locks to 60, take it off and shoots to 250,140,all over place
really odd
I'd be tempted just to run 26.2.2 Express Install for a 2nd time over the top. Takes 2-3 minutes and hopefully it fixes your glitch.Strange issues with the new driver.
Decided I would update from 26.1.1 last night - all appeared ok to begin with but managed in the process to delete my sound card and , as far as I could see, it had not changed frm 26.1.1
Sorted out the sound card this morning (just a glitch that was sorted after a re-boot) and decided to go the long route i.e.:-
1. Download 26.2.2
2. Run amd clean up utility
3 Install 26.2.2
Did the above and all appeared in order BUT when I rebooted it told me that the driver running was 26.1.1 !!
Very strange - but it is stable so I am not upgrading again - will leave it till next driver update and keep fingers crossed. (am running 7900xt on AM4 system with windows 11)
