The AMD Driver Thread

That should be in today's release. please ensure your pipeline caches are cleared before testing

@welshrat the fix for the hybrid config failures was unfortunately a bit more involved. It was too risky of a change to get it into today's release under the timeframe that we had (the change requires more testing), should hopefully meet the next release. In the interim, I think it would unfortunately be best to disable igfx as a workaround.
No worries, I have plenty of other stuff to play. I will wait for the driver. Thanks for getting on top of this.

it's fine. the change is in platform abstraction library, which is the underlying sw layer beneath all of our usermode drivers. Changes here need to face a lot of scrutiny to be deemed stable (and with good reason)

Cheers will test soon.

Can somebody in the driver team reproduce an issue I am having with Serato Dj Pro (Serato Dj Lite is free to use if they dont have Pro version already which they probably dont :) ) When I have Second Life loaded up in a fairly high graphically intensive scene, Serato Dj really starts stuttering a lot (the tunes timelines that move in the beatgrid) and have had it actually crash Second Life once. I have started to run Serato Dj on a second PC for now which has a 4300G with no dGPU installed, it runs great but testing both Serato and Second Life together on that PC and I get the same outcome with Serato stuttering and freezing in the beatgrid.

I am running a 1440p miniLED as primary display at 180Hz (Freesync Premium Pro) with 2x 1080p displays at 120Hz (Freesync Premium), I run Serato Dj from one of these 1080p displays. It happens with all different refresh rates set which I thought might have been the issue. I feel like its a driver issue with AMD as this is happening on my main PC in my Sig and a separate PC running a Ryzen 4300G.

It pains me to say, this never happened when I had a 3060Ti :(

Multi monitor setups, who would even do this in 2026? :D

Hope that is enough info to get on with :)

I did send a bug report through the driver software.

Happening on 26.3.1 and later. Hoping this new driver might fix it.

Thanks.
I'm not sure we have this in coverage, I'll see if we can procure the pro version if not.

@AMD_Vik These new drivers are still giving me install issues. Install via the Download Manager failed in the same way I've previously described (erroneous hardware error and long black screen, killing of Fan Control process), second repair install via the web install from AMD.com worked perfectly (without having to do a reset install) with only a momentary black screen.

Thanks, be great to get this issue sorted out to be honest.

Also done a long test in Second Life earlier, so far so good, not seen any flickering on avatars yet and thats with a club full of over 90 avatars. I do have a bit of weird flickering stuff on my own avatars head but that might be just an old hairbase I've been using for years but all in all pretty happy right now.. cheers :)

That's interesting, I have a couple users on reddit who are still observing the issue on 26.7.1 :/

'm one of the people still seeing the issue. The new driver definitely seems to improve it, but in my testing it's only a partial fix—it no longer happens everywhere, but it still occurs on certain mesh bodies, clothes, and hair.

If you have a few minutes, would you mind checking this location and letting me know if you can reproduce it there? It would be really helpful to know whether it's just my setup or if it still affects others too.

Here's what I'm seeing:

So yeah, its still happening but I think this is down to Linden Lab screwing up here, they have been rushing in all this PBR etc without proper testing, I know a Third Party Viewer Dev that has told me before they just chuck new stuff in without thinking about giving it a good old test, Second Life was first built on an Nvidia SLI setup, I guess they still use Nvidia and just disregard AMD. Post that picture you showed me in here, it may give some hint to whats going on.

@AMD_Vik I hope the driver team are hooked up with Linden Labs on this, I think it will take effort from them and AMD working together to get this mess fixed.

A few hints, I feel it can depend on PBR used and the altitude you're at on the sim, we can go up to 4000m (and build) in Second Life but things can get a little shaky above 1000m although I had no issues at the club last night which is at 3800m but I know the owner doesnt use PBR environment settings as she does not use a viewer that is PBR capable.

Note. PBR in Second Life stands for Physically Based Rendering, a graphics technology that updates how light interacts with virtual objects using real-world material properties, supporting features like glTF formats, dynamic reflections, and reflection probes.

I can deal with this issue for now as I dont really give a crap what avatars look like, I just Dj there :D

Thanks for the heads up - have installed and apart from having to install twice to get it to run properly (which appears to be the norm now) not an issue.

To mention i was undervolting to 1000mv (7900xt) but was getting glitches - have reduced to 1050 and appears stable now :)

Just updated with the AMD Install Manager in Adrenaline with no problems.
No issues here either. I always install by downloading the installer, but I thought I'd also try the AMD Install Manager. Clicked "update". Downloaded and began installing, screen briefly goes black, and then completes. Took about 2 minutes or so. That is on a single display setup, Windows 11, running Fan Control as well. This is on an older 6900XT though. Ta.

sorry I meant navi31, yours is the Navi31XTX. I take the codename bits for granted, that's my bad.

I.may circle back with you on this clock behaviour in a couple months time. Have been working with engineers on something that might make this more stable for some users
I didn't really fully take in what you wrote here. I thought the issue was FSR 4.1 related and reverted back to pre this release, driver wise. I still had to lower GPU clock speeds though as I was still getting crashes. Last night, I then tried the latest driver, lowered the clock speed on this and found I didn't get any crashes in games, so far.

It seemed to be related to the latest drivers to me as I never got crashes before. Strange has this happened but I'm pleased that the fix worked. I may have a little play and see how high I can go with them before I get crashed but for now I'm happy I can use FSR 4 without a crash, seemingly.

Got it running OK with a 200 MHz drop now which makes almost no difference to performance, maybe a drop of 1fps which I can live with as long as it remains stable. Ran plenty of game last night, all seemed stable. I did get a shockingly bad drop is performance to Black Myth but deleting the conf folder got that back to 111 fps with everything on max including ray tracing.

Picked up Gears 5 on the cheap recently (< £7) and there's a game stopping crash on a cut scene.
Reading around the web people said to roll back to 26.3.1, which I've done and that's fixed the issue.
The game also had some horrible 'disco lights' flashing graphical issues in an earlier part of the game with 26.7.1 drivers, though not gone back and re-tested that section with 26.3.1 to see if that also now fixes this issue.
Sent a bug report via the drivers but checking the Steam forums it seems a few others have already been doing this.

Just to mention that it has become clear that my undervolting was not causing the instability so have reverted to the undervolt I had. Proving difficult to work out what causes occasional revert to standard!!

How do you know it was not the undervolting?

Basically because I get the same issue even when running standard - to mention I tried the undervolt @ 1050 but still had an occasional issue and have now settled @ 1001 which appears stable. ( I have noticed that it will repeat the problem , of reverting to stock, if I have a glitch when starting the computer and the keyboard fails to start.

Do you have fast boot enabled? That would cause my performance setting tweaks in Adrenaline to revert quite frequently after a reboot. So if you getting it after a reboot I'd disable fast boot if now done already but if happening during system use then its very likely you've got instability in your system somewhere

No fast boot is not enabled- Would agree that there is probably instability in my system !
Decided to keep a log for a few weeks and see what ,if anything, it reveals.
Thanks for input!!
