Urg what has happened to AMD drivers

I haven't been able to use any betas or newish drivers on my 290, I'm still stuck on 14.4 due to installing and getting a black screen...

Anyone actually found a fix for this? I thought this was hotfixed a while back but still does it for me so annoying to fix it as well!

Also have they actually fixed the black screen recovering for monitor sleep? It is annoying having to ctrl alt del to wake my monitors up everytime

Are you removing the old set before installing? I never have issues updating drivers. I go to control panel and completely remove old and restart then install the new drivers.

Yeppers! I've tried using a tool to clear all traces of AMD drivers as well. Each time I just get stuck at a black screen when it does the driver install or I force reboot, it also seems to kill the Logitech display driver on my keyboard which may be a given due to it disabling all displays during the install.

Try uninstall by control panel, don't restart, run DDU and restart into safe mode when it ask. Select amd and recommended setting, run it and restart again. Now try installing new drivers.

The new expansion for bf4 seems to have hosed the game, mantle or dx11 mode, on dx11 im getting some error about the link to the dp connection not being able to support the refresh rates or resolution, whereas on mantle it either dumps me out after a bit to desktop or dumps me out and locks up.

on the latest BETA's. Ive added Farcry4.exe to the 3Dapplications settings menu but any changes I make don't seem to affect anything in game.

Trying to experiment with v-sync and other settings to try and minimise the stuttering I am getting.

Any ideas? Never had a problem on Nvidia, be it V-sync or forcing max clocks with the "prefer maximum performance" option. Why is this not an option in CCC?

The Vsync in CCC is for OpenGL only.

What I have done is turn CF off, it turns out much smoother than I thought.

Just installed the new beta drivers, ULPS still broken for me (second GPU still awake and fan running at desktop). I am aware it's not mentioned as a fixed issue in the release notes, but as it's not mentioned as a known issue either I thought I'd just let people know my experience.

My second card is doing the opposite it should be doing at idle. After gaming it seems to get stuck at boost clocks. :rolleyes:

Long shot - saw someone on Guru3D mention that the latest Gaming Evolved App caused his second GPU to run at 100% usage even when he wasn't gaming. He closed the app, and the second card went back to idle. I'm not running the App, are you by any chance and if so, does the problem persist if you close the App?

No, i don't use it. I used to but don't any more so i uninstalled it a short while ago. Matt said it was a known issue so i hope it is resolved soon, the new 14.11.2 driver didn't seem to fix it.

2x290X's can't run AA above x2 at 3440x1440 in this game, in fact it is a struggle at 1440p as well.

Initially on COD:AW with my Tri-X 290 in Crossfire I got loads of stuttering and flickering on the screen.

Changed the profile then in CCC to Frame pacing ON and Crossfire mode: Default (previously OFF and AFR friendly).

Now everything is perfect, no tearing gun textures, actually got the supersampling up to 8x now and everything is smooth

Just how it should be!

That means it's now using the default AMD Crossfire profile.

Can confirm on 14.11.2 ULPS is on by default.. I always disable this anyway, but I have reported it for those that like to have this on.
