**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

Why so glum Martini? AMD probably wanted to release something now even though it is not fully compatible with all cards and lacking some features so it looks like they are not standing still while Nvidia races ahead.

A couple of months isn't that long really and good things come to those who wait and all that!

I'm not a fan of half baked launches.

That's not gloomy, maybe I just have higher standards.

Martini is always Gloomy ^^^^

Part 2 is coming in a Month or so, what makes you think you would only have 4K? i have 4 other options without 4K now.

Wait a month for something that should have been added from the get? You have 4 options, 3 of which are smaller than Almighty's native res, so pointless. When 4k is added, he will have 2 options

I agree it is unfair that a lot of cards, resolutions and aspect ratios are not supported from the off.

Maybe it is a case of if they added to much at once and there were issues, it would have made bugfixing a headache. I don't know but I am sure they didn't do it to alienate consumers.

How many more res can you have after 1440P?

1536P: i have that, why does he not?
1600P: wrong aspect Ratio but choice of it would be nice.
1800P: i have that, again why does he not?
2160P: Its coming
2700P: May also be coming.

I've got:

2804x1577
3135x1764
3413x1920
3620x2036
3840x2160
4434x2494
5120x2880

for options to choose via DSR on my 1440, all of which are playable @144hz.

Loving them so far, 4k no loss to me wasn't planning on upping that far. 1440p is more than enough.

Have you had to switch to 60hz to get the higher options shanks? Also are you usin dual dvi or display port?

Where's Matt in this thread anyway? Seems like it's the usual AMD apologists championing what seems to me to be a bit if a fail. Again. If it wasn't for mantle in bf4....

On temps... I've just updated and gone from temps of 70 degrees when playing DA:I on a single R9 290x with stock cooler, to a max of 56 degrees. Hopefully this is not a fluke.

That's a drastic drop! When I first had this card a few drivers back I was averaging 80 degrees a gaming session. I have the heating on full wack tonight compared to last night too, so its nothing to do with the ambient temp of the house, if anything its in spite of it!

I don't post here often, but the change was so drastic I had to mention it.
