**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

Used the scaling option on World of Warcraft, and the writing in game was basically unreadable on the highest rez option, the game was also blurred. It looked better at 1440 rez (on my 1080 monitor), but again the writing was very small and ever so slightly not clear.

Is there a way to adjust user interfaces of games while increasing the resolution with VSR?

What's the AMD rep got to say?

I don't think this is a driver issue. He been having this issue in all drivers since 14.7 I believe?
His windows is broken, something is up with his registry or Windows files.
I feel a windows install is the only fix. Or as a test maybe run Linux from USB does crossfire work on Linux?

I know this might not be what you want to hear. But have you tried reinstall windows? It seems that's your only option something is up.

Not always a bad idea, sometimes it's just easier to do so.

Plus installing Windows these days isn't the time hungry pain it once was, usb install to an ssd with Windows 8, looking around 15 mins :)

Only working driver is 13.9 but yeah I am going to try a reinstall.

Well I have installed these drivers and all is fine, that is until I join a game in BF4 then I get the bf4.exe error (0cx000007b)
Uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times now but same error.
I have gone back to the previous beta for now just to see if this error crops up again on these forums , all is fine and BF4 working again phew!

Phase 2 of the driver will see support for other R7 cards and up will be coming in Jan or Feb, so you guys who have missed out this time, might be looked after in the next month or so.

AMD says it plans to add support for Radeon R-series cards from the R7 260 up, but only in a "phase 2" driver due in January or February 2015. The company says adding support for those lower-end cards requires it to "explore a new implementation vs. what's in Omega," which will "take additional time"—hence the delay.

Great to see AMD not resting on their laurels. nVidia have had DSR out for quite some time now and has support for DSR all the way down to the 4 series, so hopefully AMD will do the same.

Edit:

Just found this, so take as you will.

AMD's VSR has more restrictions than NVIDIA's DSR, though it is enabled through exactly the same methods (enable in driver, select in game). You can see in the table above that there are some restrictions to note, including GPU support. For example, only the R9 285 using the Tonga GPU is able support 4K upscaling capability. The R9 290X and R9 290, higher powered GPUs but based on a slightly older GCN architecture, don't have the scalar capability to reliably downsample from 4K to 1080p and thus they are limited to 3200x1800. That will definitely still present a higher quality image than native, it's just a note-worthy hiccup in AMD's implementation

I did ask about other GPU support and AMD stated that it MIGHT be willing to implement VSR for other GPUs but it have to implement a software/shader based version of the scaling process.

Hopefully they can sort something for 7000 series :) , Month or so later isnt too bad, DSR was limited on the Nvidia side to maxwell only to begin with aswell

Yep spot on. I couldn't use DSR from the off and still can't use it with SLI and I am restricted to a single card. AMD are heading in the right direction and with both AMD and nVidia having to develop this and that to outdo the other just results in win win for us.

Long may it continue :)

I think that is a load of rubbish. More like locking it down to the 285 to try and get people to actually buy it.

System -> Advanced -> UI Scale :)
