Sorry but the 285 is the only card that can support 4K downsampling. What a load of rubbish, reeks of cynical attempt to increase sales of a failed card to be honest. This should have been available for the high end cards first and foremost in my opinion. Bit of a clanger by Amd. Not happy.

One for our Community Manager to pass on to the Driver Team while they are on a role.

I don't run MSI AB anymore, Mainly because of compatibility issues with its OSD between this and that...

I use Sapphire Trixx as an overclocking substitute, as a result i don't have any OSD anymore, other than in BF4 and the (not much good FPS counter in the Gaming Evolved App)

I use the Gaming Evolved App because of its unmatched GVR Recording quality and performance (Now also in Mantle, thank you) Hence some of the MSI AB OSD compatibility issues.

So i'm asking for an AMD OSD that just works without the compatibility issues.

What i would like from it.

FPS Counter
Vram Info
Clock Rate Info
GPU usage
GPU Temperature
CPU Combined and Cores usage
CPU Temperature
RAM Usage

The ability to change the style, size and colour of the font, customise the layout, enable / disable individual readouts.

Thanks :)

This would be superb... AMD make this happen! a OSD that works for every game.

Well I've been playing Far Cry 3 all evening at 3k downsampled to 1440p (with 2 x msaa, just for the heck of it) and it looks great. GPU usage hitting 100% on both 290s for most of the time.

4k downsampling isn't really needed. It would be nice, yes, and I'm sure we'll see it eventually, but I'm certainly not going to be complaining about its absence.

Right, they are trying to push the cheaper card instead of the 290/X and 295X2.

I think as Robert said its more the do with the GPU's scalers at this point, the 285 is the latest card, the most upto date card, its probably easier to down sample with its scaler than it is with the older Hawaii cards and even older Tahiti Cards, so it may take more time with those.

They have released what they have achieved at this point as part one, with a more complete version coming in another month or so.

They could have waited until next year entirely and just released the full package then, then at least we wouldn't have people moaning and making silly cynical accusations.

Me, i'm glad we have what we have now, with more to look forward too.

Guys, why can't I see the contour removal option in the new driver?

I'm on a 7950.

I'm missing that and the Fluid Motion option too, it does say in the patch notes that the 7000 series and R series should have it.

Perfect Picture Enhancements:
AMD Fluid Motion Video – Smooth Blu-ray playback with lower power APUs
High quality frame rate conversion
Interpolates frames using GPU compute
Removes video judder
Available on AMD 7000 Series APUs and AMD Radeon™ R7 & R9 series GPUs

Contour Removal – Improved algorithm for compressed videos
Removes compression artifacts without disturbing video details
Available on AMD Athlon™ APUs, AMD 7000 series APUs, and AMD Radeon™ R series GPUs

EDIT: Just realised it says 7000 series APUs and not GPUs

Well you do have a R9 series 280x which to me just makes it more confusing
Problem with rebranding cards :(

I've downsampled 4K on a 7970 before AMD's drivers removed the ability.
With CRU, (Which is crap( I did 4K at 30HZ on a 290, which fixed GTA 4's lack of AA ability.

Just AMD being AMD, and the usual suspects.
