And Nvidia fans complain at the criticism Nvidia receives over and over again.

Perhaps if Nvidia didn't hand out a constant supply of ammunition.....?

Edit. i might go onto the BM forums later and see what they have to say about this.

There is a lot to criticise NVidia for but sometimes I think people go after the wrong targets.

One of my biggest criticisms of NVidia would be their use of the GK110 chip. There are so many variations now which have been used to milk people it is getting silly.

Why didn't they release a full fat version of the GK110 with the Titan (even if it would have cost even more) and then as availability became more plentiful reduced the prices down to the point where the 780ti is now. They could have launched what is now the GTX 780 at the same time to use up crippled GK110 chips and just stuck with the two cards. Instead we have the Titan, GTX 780, GTX 780ti and GTX 780 ghz edition and I don't think that is the end of it yet.

Because to the vast majority of Nvidia owners Nvidia cannot do wrong, no matter what.

It was absolutely surreal how some pepole thought tooth and nail defending the GTX Titan and its £800+ price, just regurgitating the nonsense Nvidia fed them about how awesomely awesome it was to justify that ridicules price.
Nvidia will have been rolling around in stitches laughing at the shear volume of people who actually bought into their marketing, and pepole just keep going back to them for more and more and more of it.

I think there is a medical term for that.

A full fat GK110 was blindingly obvious to follow only after AMD's response, you can fleece your customers all over again by doing it that way round.

Has anyone had improved performance with the latest drivers?

No i think Beta 9 is just a bug fix primarily Kaap. No reason not to upgrade mind you.

I also heard about something for you to look forward to from our friend Thracks. I can't wait for it. ;)

Thracks said:
We're assessing some tweaks that will bring BF4 to 90-95% scaling 1->2 GPUs. That's without Mantle.

Going forward, Mantle could help any game with CPU bottlenecking and multi-GPU scaling. It's deeply parallelized as an API.

I'm about to install them and I will try Cod Ghosts later to see if the Crossfire has been fixed, but tbh the game runs fine on one 7970 @ max settings, no issues at all.
Edit, well just tried Ghosts and its fine for a minute or so then stutters like hell, definately not fixed, for me at least.
Haven't tried them on BF4 yet.

Is it me, or the people who "posted" about the 13.11b9.2 change log missed half of it?

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx

Feature Highlights of The AMD Catalyst 13.11 Beta9.2 Driver for Windows
Call of Duty®: Ghost - Improves anti-aliasing performance, and updates the AMD CrossFire™ profile
AMD Radeon™ R9 290 Series - PowerTune update to reduce variance of fan speed / RPM
Resolves intermittent crashes seen in legacy DirectX® 9 applications
DirectX 11.2 - Tier 1 Tiled Resources now supported on the following products:
AMD Radeon R9 280X
AMD Radeon R9 270X
AMD Radeon R7 250
AMD Radeon R7 240
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Or else I cannot explain how nobody mentioned that all 77xx/78xx/79xx series got DX11.2 support.

Stupid question maybe - but have I read somewhere that the crossfire bridge is no longer needed? Or was that a weird dream involving fairies dressed up in Red and Green fighting it out above a giant skyscraper?

No major driver release to atleast December as that's when Mantle releases and drivers will have to changed and updated to work with it.

I'd like to see the frame pacing crossfire+eyefinity driver before then! Mainly to see what the fuss is about, as I haven't noticed any stuttering (outside FarCry 3 of course) and am curious if I'll see a difference or if it's all massive exaggeration.

Well I must say going to 13.11 latest beta improved my batman orgins game massively. Was on 13.9 before. I must say though the game still feels jerky with mouse and I am getting 60 fps most of the time. Any idea i am using a g9. Is this mouse or some gfx setting.

Just to add all my DPI setting and polling rates are maxed.

Beta 9 has issues with V Sync in any game got back to Beta 8 and you will see what I mean.

Beta 9 feels janky with V Sync on in every game whereas Beta 8 is perfectly smooth apart from BF4 where you have to turn Frame Pacing off.
