Not entirely confident in the stability of my PC, nor the performance till I can crank back the overclock to prevent bottlenecking - but now that I've managed to game with the 290 for a few hours, noise is really not an issue.

My pc sits under a glass desk which is open, not audibly worse than my SLI set up (twin frozr), maybe I'm going deaf but it's definitely overplayed in the reviews!

Tell me if I'm been dumb! But is the frame pacing supposed to be available to single card users? And 290 series cards? I was just in my ccc and noticed the frame pacing option is no longer their, its been that long since I last had a single card setup.

This is using the 13.11 beta 9.2 drivers.

Frame pacing is only for crossfire so with a single card you won't have the option.

Have them on the system after doing a rebuild from scratch.........don't seem the smoothest I have to say.
Arkham Origins says its at 60fps, but it certainly doesn't look it, even with a RadeonPro profile, it appears juddery. BF4 also suffers.

Just doesn't seem as put together as the previous Beta 9s for me.

Weird but I always find the official WHQL drivers to be the worst ? haven't tried one in I think 2 years now that didn't give me problems and crashes.
Still on 13.8 beta 2 here seems like the best driver to me.

Hi,
I was just wondering recently if there's anything I should change in CCC to get better frames? I am talking about 3D application settings btw.
So far I have left everything default, apart from changing antialiasing method to adaptive multisampling from multisampling as I heard this was better and OpenGL Triple Buffering to on.
Thanks. :)

You can get a very small performance boost by changing texture quality to performance. This will get 1-2 extra fps.

With luck I'll be installing my 2nd 7950 tonight and trying crossfire for the first time.(Tried sli twice and was not impressed on either occasion but the attemps were some years ago)

Are the current whql drivers up to the task or should I go for a beta? and if so which one?

I'm on an Asus Z77 Sabertooth board.

just a heads up
