** The AMD Navi Thread **

Guys, guys. It's a premium GPU from a premium company.

You pays your money and enjoys your premium feels.

Just a shame that the only two companies serving the entire market are now both premium companies. Was nice when we had a budget-conscious vendor in there too. Fond memories.

Well I for one am done with this whole scene now, I'll still read about it but I'm out, I don't care anymore. So disappointed id consider selling my Radeon 7 and buying a second hand 2080ti just to show it

What, complete opposite. That is is why no one has done a chilled design for GPUs.

And going by the patents and publications, Nvidia will be first to marker with a chipket GPU, initially aimed at HPC and DL

It's not the complete opposite. Latency is not that important for GPUs. It's why things like SLI with terrible die to die latency are even feasible in the first place.

Also AMD already have multi die GPUs and have the experience building semicustom chips. All they need to do is use the infinity fabric and it should be better than anything out there apart from possibly emib.

I can see many RMA's from customers who mistake it for damage :)
What was AMD thinking...
Hahahaha, wow. I looked at that several times and assumed it was a damaged GPU. So it didn't really make sense at all. Now you've pointed it out and I've looked again...

Just lol.

Expectation is the down payment on disappointment.

Surely you had no expectations of AMD actually pulling something out of the bag?

Surely?

This is the 3rd time and now I'm done simple as. They had a chance, they had the hype, even had the interest of nvidia owners that were being shafted, but no, threw it all away for some reshade tech you can do with software and performance the same as they already have with the vega 64 but actually more expensive. Showing it off like it was the saviour of us all topped it off. F you amd gpu division, you lost at least 1 die hard fan boi in me

Did you notice how they tip toed so carefully around any mention of raytracing?even when showing unity with ray tracing in it. Calling it dynamic aerial spot lighting or some poo instead. Lame Lame lame

Wait for Arcturis :D

I mean, the performance for the price is actually ok, nothing amazing but nothing terrible. The blower cooler is a poor decision though.
Why when you can get the same performance for cheaper, especially when nvidia drop the price, you can find a 2070 on ocuk for less than 480 plus you get raytracing wether you think it's worth it or not, it's still got that on top

From what AMD showed (I know I know) it is actually around 10% faster than a 2070 and the same price as the absolute cheapest 2070 so in those terms it's relatively ok. $450 should end up as about £420 so that's almost 15% less than £480, with more performance. I don't see that as a bad deal.

Like I said though they definitely could do more with the cooler.
