No, it shouldn't be called a replacement for Vega. It's a new mid-range, mainstream SKU, with expected 90% performance of the RX 5700. The chip is the same Navi 10 with more disabled shaders.

Vega replacement will be Navi 2* chips coming a few months later, made on N7+ EUV process node. Maybe we will get a preview at the same time during CES 2020.

Well I am back in AMD land after a number of Nvidia years.

290X early 2014
970 OC late 2014 (£217)
980 reference in 2015 (£456)
970M in 2016 (after selling desktop)
1060 Mobile in 2017
5700 in 2020 (£250)

Looking to get a 50% increase over my old 980 for almost half the price!
