*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

I've been toying with the idea of upgrading my 3080 10Gb for the past few months. I was initially waiting on rumoured RTX5080 pricing and performance but after hearing about the 9070XT, it has me intrigued. I could well be heading back to team red this generation. Vega 56 to 3080 to a potential 9070XT.

Sounds like nothing but comparisons are only meaningful with percentages as well as numbers. Looks like 3fps is 9-10% behind the 4080 Super.

Yeah, about where it was expected. Looking forward to reviews for both this and the 5000 series. Well apart from the 5090, I have zero interest in it.

Now who’s giving in to hype. I’m sticking with 7900 XT raster and 4070Ti RT for the MBA version. OC AIB versions about 10% faster. So just under 4080 (non super)

Right... Cyberpunk is worst case for AMD, anything else would be progressively better, Wokong is still very heavy on the RT but already now the 9070 XT is more inline with a 4080 S.

True but lets not get ahead of ourselves, 3fps behind a 4080 is pretty meaningless when neither game is "playable"

Kinda pointless even being 20% faster when the FPS is so low. Don't get me wrong, i'm looking forward to it, and i'm actually more excited for AMDs offering over NVidias at this time.

Yeah but that's only if you're at 4k with path tracing and everything cranked.

When you're on a 3080 at 3440x1440 like me, 20% is a nice improvement and gives me far more options in terms of quality settings.

I know what you mean in terms of excitement though. You kind of know what you're going to get with Nvidia - big prices, decent performance, just enough VRAM and questionable features. It feels like they're about to disappear up their own arses so hopefully AMD can capitalise.

Yeh the problem i have is i only care about Raw Rasta, i'm still on a 1080ti (With a 4k 144hz monitor) so I've never been able to use, DLSS, or FSR, or RT or any of the fancy ******** they're on about in these presentations, I need to see raw performance to understand what i'm getting.

I'd prefer a 5080 but if AMD find an nice spot with good 4k performance across the board i'd rather save £500

Understood. Upscaling was a gamechanger for me.

But understand that 20% in the most punishing conditions for an AMD card bodes extremely well, if the leak is accurate.

You're in for a treat whatever you get, my friend.

Oh defo, I planned on a 7900xtx 4080 but when the prices came out aborted so 100% getting something. Ill wait for the reviews of the 5080 before i decided. If AMD is out first I feel like the stock of that will hold more. As they're not as popular.

No one is saying AMD should solve Nvidia performance problems in games like this, if they did that AMD performance would be very much higher, the point is the percentage difference, 3 FPS is 10% behind the 4080 Super in this heavy RT game, be that as it may it makes the "Nvidia RT" argument substantially less if not null, unless the 5070 is substantially faster in RT than the 4080 S, can you see that?
