*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

The few leaks suggested the RT was 4070ti super level

Yeah... makes sense.

9070 XT 6345
4070 Ti Super 6304

Almost identical.

We know it doesn't, at least not at 4K, 30 FPS, unplayable garbage.

1440P, 62 average, yeah its perfectly playable, not great tho.

No at 4k no.

I am sure the reviewers won't forgot to remind us when it comes to those two games.

1440p on the other hand.....

Humbug beat me to it.

I keep forgetting some people play at 1080p or 1440p what with it being 2025 and all :D

So are we saying that one game that was unplayable is now playable at 1440p but other than that the RT performance of the 5070Ti/9070XT won't really make much of a difference other than in benchmarks?

1440p with upscaling which will be hardware so quality should be good don't see why not

I'm fine with 1440p monitor playing on desk , and I don't need to spend much more to run it like I would with 4K what options do you have to run that well? 5080 that's over priced and is 16gb or 5090 ?

If it’s not crypto, it’s AI bumping up prices and demand. I have just about had enough of this greed. I just wish GPUs would be used just for playing games or designing things nothing else.

What happened to Lisa Su wanting the best price/performance cards for gamers?

9070XT needs to be max £549- please listen to your loyal fan base AMD.

I wish it were so... I was predicting/expecting this pricing too way back before I realised how bad things were.
I mean if current gen 7900XTXs got as low as £750 in recent months, surely the new GPUs need to be a few hundred quid cheaper right?
But then I popped my head into the 5000 series thread earlier to see folks were happily paying £900+ for 5070tis...
And I recall AMD's launch of the 9800X3D that seems to mirror how the 5000 release is going... and the RX 7000 series launch.
I don't have much hope that AMD will save us... I want to be wrong...

In the unlikely chance that AMD do price these new GPUs nicely, even with good stock, they'll sell out even faster than Nvidia GPUs, given how starved folks are for anything not terrible. I bet there would be folks returning/cancelling their Nvidia orders to get AMD instead, if they truly managed to finally score that goal.

Yeah that's my concern. I would like to jump to a 40 inch 4k for productivity, that's a lot of code I can then see in front of me but driving it for gaming is still not a feasible option. Won't be until I upgrade GPU in 4 years I feel. Stuck with the 3 1440p

I guess this is where good upscaling comes in. Fingers crossed for FSR4

The 5070 Ti is 24% faster than the 4070 Ti.

If we assume the 5070 is also 24% faster than the 4070 then the 5070 should land at 48.5 FPS, that makes the 4070 Ti Super still 10% faster, the 9070 XT scores the same in Speedway but while the 4070 is 20% faster in that than the 7800 XT it is 30% faster in Cyberpunk, so i would put the 9070 XT as a match for the 5070 in Cyberpunk.

No Cyberpunk is worst case scenario for AMD and Nvidia, there are a lot of other RT games that aren't anything like this heavy, in fact game developers are moving away from making RT this heavy because its not a good look and you're just excluding anyone without a 4090 and having to do very low grade RT for consoles if have any at all.

Even the 7800 XT isn't entirely unusable with RT, i get 100 FPS in Doom Eternal at 4K and 60+ in Metro Exodus Enhanced edition 1440P, all with RT and all other settings cranked to the max.

100+ FPS at 1440P RT in Resident Evil 4, Spiderman Remastered, Farcry 6 to name a few others, Watch Dogs: Legions is 70.

There are other games besides Cyberpunk, Cyberpunk is a meme.

Good thing theres loads of better games then Cyberpunk.

Like i said Cyberpunk is a meme, all the tech jurnoes like to use it because its that "can it run Crysis" thing, its kinda sad because what they should really be saying is 'this is a atrocious, it need's optimising' you can tell these people don't buy their own GPU's when they meme this ***** with free 4090's and now 5090's.

Yeah and it's old news now. Completed it twice, once on pc one on PS5. Other than finishing it for platinum I can't see me going back to it.

I will say that I was mostly joking about the whole 1080p/1440p thing, hence the smiley.
But it's true that running newer games at 4K is tough. I tend to play a mix of newer and older games and for the older ones it is lovely being able to crank them up to 4K and make them look as good as possible.
I hadn't really thought about FSR4/DLSS4 though (good thinking @welshrat), I guess that could in theory make it easier to play some newer games at 4K even if it's not native.
The other option of course is that if you want 4K for productivity you can use the monitors like that but then game at a lower resolution.

That was sort of my point in asking how much difference these cards will make on a RT gaming level, you've said there are a bunch of games that work fine on existing AMD cards (and you would assume Nvidia cards), so that won't really help there. Then you have the silly levels of RT requirements and they probably won't help there either. So it seems there's just a small selection of games that are currently borderline that might get pushed over the edge to playable. Just wondering if a lot of fuss is being made around improved RT performance given that. Plus the consideration of how many people have said that they just turn off RT anyway because it adds so little.

I think if the leaks are true the step up with RT is impressive and playable at 1440p and even more so with upscaling

And these 2 games are heavily optimised for Nvidia

P1ap0aY.jpeg

Well there is our answer, if true, = to a 4070 Ti Super in Cyberpunk, this is good, this is really good.

Just price, PRICE AMD... take the win, don't be daft.

Cyberpunk is actually very well optimised - it runs like a dream on the Steam Deck. You can turn RT/PT off you know.

It's nice that games like that exist that give you the option to have these mental graphics settings that you don't have to use. Otherwise you're left with games like RE4 that may as well not have RT at all.
