*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

the leaks all say 20% past the Gre for the 9070

40-60% for the 9070xt

+21% 9070 vs 7900GRE

But these are supposedly leaks from AMD's slides (which will be cherry picked benchmarks)

I expect real world testing to be closer.

30+ games is a lot to cherry pick , at least they don't look have gone down the Nvidia route showing all upscaling and frame generation

Just do it AMD. Make your cards good value. I know it's hard. I know it hurts. But just.do.it.

I have personally pushed AMD very hard to price their cards aggressively (we still have no idea on even our own cost yet, we paid inflated cost) but in short I'd like to see AMD undercut the equivalent FE NVIDIA graphics card in price as if they do so they will have a success, as the stock situation seems better from AMD, plenty of stock for launch at OcUK and I suspect stock globally is pretty strong.

Delaying launch seemed a good idea, its allowed AIB's and Resellers to build up stock, allowed them time to improve drivers and also allowed them to hopefully determine their own competition and thus price the product correctly and competitively in the market.

The only downside I can see is resellers have had cash tied up or not purchased much due to cash flow, as OcUK has literally been sat on stock since mid January......

FE 5070ti doesn't exist or do you mean it's MSRP ? 5070 will have FE

Ah yes correct.
Well NVIDIA suggested £729 I believe which pretty does not exist, or certainly not easy to buy at.

But my suggestion is AMD undercut that suggested price but of course AMD also make sure that supply at the undercutting price is always available.

For me an MSRP is pointless if only a very small percentage of people can get it or its near impossible to get.

My communication to AMD is undercut it and have product easily available at it.

But we are just the reseller at end of the day.

lmao, so all they have to do is undercut 5080FE pricing? There are no nVidia FE cards below that.

Look at it from a practical standpoint. nV FE prices are not what 95% of their cards are priced at. 5070tis are (absurdly) averaging £950. If AMD comes in with a card that is largely equivalent in performance and costs £800, that's an attractive price in this market for many. It's not going to win hearts and minds, but it's a price that will move units. AMD is, for better or worse, tryimg to strike a balance between hearts and minds and running a business.

That said, this is all academic as retailers may choose to price higher than anything AMD sets.

Trying to figure out what my red lines would be.

I have a 3060ti FE, £380 back in 2021, which is £450 today adjusted for inflation.

7900 GRE is around +50% performance, and lets call the average current price £550, so +50% performance for +22% price.

If the 9070 is +20% over the GRE, that would make it +60% performance over my 3060ti, and would therefore need to be +26% price max for equivalency (£570)

If the 9070XT is +40% over the GRE, that would be +70% over my 3060ti, meaning a price cap of +30% (£585)

This is obviously only a look relative to what I could currently pick up a GRE for, but I certainly wouldn't be touching them for anything above £600.

The 5070ti seems to be around +120% of my 3060ti, but with the cheapest currently being £800, that is +78% in price.

Yeh, £600 is around my max to tempt me to get one.

5070ti and 9070xt are looking to be similar in performance

I'm assuming that if the 9070xt is 7900xtx perf at 304 tdp then AMD can quite easily release a bigger card later this year that is a decent bit better than the 5080 (at least in raster) at 400ish tdp. They'll probably slap 24gb or more on it to.
