*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

You think so?
I got my 7800xt for £360 new and the other half's for £320 new (crazy deals) and they seemed like the best buys at the time for sure
That's nuts, £320 for a 7800xt is definitely the way to go! Guess I've been following the wrong auctions!

Yeah, was actually not through an auction but from a reputable website, too, especially since it was the sapphire nitro version
I usually scour that PC building site every now and again.. but never have seen 7800XTs below £400. Are you sure you don't mean 7700XTs, since some of those are sometimes going below £350.

Very curious to know how it was possible to get such a good deal (worst case you may have to DM the details due to the forum rules).

They very frequently go on sale using discount codes and are constantly under £400

There are websites online that show current deals in the UK for all sorts and GPUs are one of those things that can be searched for

Snooping around online on those comparison places, there's one place I found that seems to have dropped prices of their GPUs as of a couple days ago. Only issue is that I've never heard of that retailer, but they do have listed a fair number of 7800xts below £400. They even have 7900xts below £550 around 7900GRE prices.

I'm not desperate for a GPU (and I'm not in the place to be buying PC parts right now), so I personally won't bother with it, especially buying from a place I've never heard of. That said... these prices could just be the first of this years November/black friday deals and this could just be one retailer doing their deals early maybe.

Best benchmark I've seen for the PS5 Pro so far

Shows PS5 Pro is 55% faster than the base system. Funny enough this 55% seems to apply whether the game is pure Raster or whether RT features are enabled, given that the PS5 Pro is rumored to have RDNA4 features, it doesn't look like they make the PS5 Pro significantly faster than in RT compared to just the core count increase from the base system. It would appear the killer feature for AMD going forward is not raw performance, it's being able to do AI upscaling like DLSS.

Unlike the base system's release in 2020, the results aren't quite at a level where PC gamers would consider ditching their PC's as the new console is $600, but only has the GPU performance of a $350 GPU - Where as the original PS5 in 2020 outperformed it's price, but with the new system it's clear Sony doesn't want to sell them at a loss, so a PC gamer is still better off buying a new GPU than switching to the console.

I am guessing here though that it's simply using PS5 boost mode and doesn't use any extra functionality of the chip. Whether that can impact RT I have no idea but it could be just for compatibilities sake that it is held back a little. Will be interesting as games start getting patched.

Don't feel bad, I always keep my eye open on deals and that's about the cheapest I've seen too. I call BS tbh, unless he's using an NHS/Teacher code or similar.
Not bs, just a site that said they'd provide the free games with it, but they didn't have them, so gave a partial refund of £80 instead, which I was thrilled with.

£360 was absolutely legit and was using publicly available discount codes on an xfx card and came with the free games too.

That’s a bargain. I’ve had a 7800xt mba from overclockers for 12 months now and tbh I’m not really pushing it for the games I play at 1440p (COD mainly) and get 200fps at max settings with FSR3.0 at quality. Managed to get it for £453 after cashback.

I keep thinking what might have I been missing out as I had a 7900xt that I had to sell for cashflow a year ago but given the performance of the 7800xt- not sure what I have missed out on.

Do we think the PS5 pro is like a 7900GRE/6950xt in grunt?

PS5 pro will most likely be 7800xt levels in terms of hardware grunt, but they probably will use it more efficiently, I'd imagine

Spec wise it looks suspiciously like a 6800. Its why I am waiting for a real teardown to identify what rdna3/4 whatever tech is actually there regarding any RT improvements...

Looking for a reason to hate my 7800xt and upgrade to something more powerful but it handles all latest games at 1440p really well without compromise. But if AI FSR 4.0 works on it well, then guess I will have to wait a few more years to resolve the itch.
