*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

For people wondering about overclocking.
Those models are already overclocked +200 over base so not surprising they only do ~150mhz more on core.

For people wondering about overclocking.

Hardly worth shouting about if you can get the pulse at MSRP, other than purely on looks

9070xt is 23% faster

But putting that 23% into fps at 1440p, is there any significant difference that makes this a viable purchase now? I guess, also the fact that my 6950xt is under water, so factoring a new wb at somepoint in the near future, would also add to the cost too.

The 9070XT is good value at £569 to £600 but it’s not a slam dunk now I’ve seen the reviews.Games are not consistent performance wise. Wouldn’t pay more than that. On par with a 5070Ti for raster but 25% worse for RT at 4K was Hardware unboxed summary.

RT performance is still lower than ideal , and whilst FSR 4 is good , if the games you play dont support it (eg BF2042 - DLSS only , Hell Divers 2 - neither) then it’s less of a result. All depends on what games you are playing now and in the future. If Dice announced they were supporting FSR4 in the next battlefield game I’d be more onboard. But I don’t think they will.

So back to how much is DLSS and + 25% RT worth above AMD’s offering? I expect the answer is between £100 and £150.

If the 5070 Ti’s drop in price as volume upticks , then it will still be the preferable card. 5080’s or higher are just silly money still.

I’ve seen alerts for 5070Tis at £729 which might be worth the premium.

I don't think you'd buy an AMD card if they charged you half an apple and a hug.

Personally I think it's really good value, I don't care for frame gen as most games I play are online, i've also just finished watching the JTC video, he's saying frame timings are a lot better on AMD so games feel really smooth and he's had 0 issues with drivers which is also good.

This is going to be an Amazing upgrade on a 1080ti.

I am thinking of going for the Pulse now if I can get it for 570.

Haven't had a chance to skim the reviews. What are we thinking R.E. single player games at 4k with upscaling, 60FPS target? If MSRP is achievable I might buy myself an early Christmas present

69% vs 100% is 31 percentage points, not 31%, that's not how it works. :)

If the 7800 XT is GPU A with the 9070 XT being GPU B then GPU A needs to gain the performance relative to its self to reach GPU B, there is an easy way to calculate that, you divide GPU B by GPU A, so 100 / 69 = 1.449, the number after the decimal point is the percentage GPU A needs to gain to reach GPU B, so 44.9%.
To proof it you can simply add the 44.9% to GPU A, 69+ 44.9% = 99.981 rounded up that its 100%.

So the 9070 XT is 45% faster at 1440P
Thanks Humbug I’ve corrected my error a few posts earlier and I’m humbled on the outpouring of corrective measures to counteract my poor A Level maths education back in 1998. Only joking. Thanks for explaining.

I think that may be the card I go for. I did want the Taichi or Nitro+ but after looking at the OC results, it's really not worth paying £130+ for 4fps.
I mean, in some cases, it's as high as 8%-10%, but it's nothing to get worked up about—especially assuming you can't overclock it to that level yourself.

TPU now has 36% better on relative performance charts lol.

Does the AMD software have a similar feature to NVIDIA shadowplay where you can click 1 button to take a screenshot and click another to save the last 30 second clip (or whatever you set it up to)?

This release has made me really happy, AMD have brought something that was badly needed and this can only be good for the consumer.

Their price to performance now makes them a viable contender again, I can hope that the release after this they step it up again and I will have an upgrade choice again.

This looks like a fantastic card.

Edit: Was forgetting there are two cards! Even better.
