*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

I’m still predicting 4070Ti/7900 XT raster and within 5% of 4070Ti RT give or take.

The price to be $600 - $650 because AMD are stupid.

Basically undercut current similar performance cards by 20% - 26% in price.

Until they release the prices, I’ll remain comfortable in my delusion. It’s much more fun this way. There’ll be plenty of time for disappointment later.
£200 9060
£275 9060xt
£350 9070
£450 9070xt
Might actually sell some cards if they priced it like this.
I think the 9070XT will be £600

Should be $450-500 to gain market share. AMD will do what they do and price it at $550-600 while pushing the "improved RT" narrative.

I mean if it barely can beat a 7900XT in raster, it shouldn't be any more than £450. If it was a bit faster, than I can see a £500 price point being tolerated.

Heck, just look at the name. If it's tiered similarly to the 7700XT we already have, that card released at $450, or around £400.
If priced too high, why even bother calling it a 9070XT. Just call it a 9080XT (cos it would be priced like 7800XT instead) and label it as a low effort refresh.

The other thing to note, folks who keep saying AMD are waiting for Nvidia to set pricing. Nvidia will be talking about the 5080 and potentially 5090 first.
Barely any hints of things like the 5070, which is what this AMD GPU would be competing against (and AMD would use to adjust their pricing for).
I don't think Nvidia will mention or show anything below 5080, so there isn't any excuses for AMD not to show performance or price in a moment's time.

As I have said in the 50xx series discussion, I think the days of generational performance increases at last gen prices are gone. I suspect these AMD cards will just slot into the current product stacks on performance and price, so if the 9070XT is 7900XT performance, its going to be 7900XT price, if the feature set is better, its going to be more. Happy to be proved wrong but AMD these days aren't our friend.

Another thing to keep in mind for both Nvidia and AMD performance figures:
Heaps of salt for their own figures!

While usually a good indication, we've previously seen, esp from AMD (with 9000 series non-X3D CPUs), that they can show products in a misrepresentative (positive) way.

Long story short: wait for impartial reviews for the full picture!
Unfortunately that usually means until the cards are available to buy, these companies are terrible, since they leave review NDA for the moment the parts are available to buy.

I'm pretty happy with my 6900XT, but will be keeping a close eye on this...

If price and power/temps are good AND FSR4 is a meaningful step up, I can totally see myself being convinced!

[Edit] I assume here that 9070XT will be +25% or more relative performance vs. the 6900XT at 4K.
