Of course there i wll be a new driver, the real question is how much more performance do you expect in 1 month.
AMD have had public demos of Vega for 6 months, had Engineering samples for at least 9 months potentially longer, and driver development starts at least a year before there is any silicon. Being conservative they have liekly been working on the Vega drivers for 18 months. What will happen in 1 more month?
There is no "variant" it is the same card, the same silicon, the same architecture, the same features.

I got to say build quality looks very nice - looking at the PCB,there could be a Vega Nano too.
considering back in January it had the same performance as today, 6 months later...i can't see 1 month making that much difference.
the original guy from wccftech benched doom and got the exact same fps numbers as the original demo amd held.
Yeah Amds Pr department sucks thats for sure. Generally this silence is very annoying, and as much as i hate people attacking Amd left and right sometimes i think they really deserve it ...
Its the same silicon but that doesn't mean its the same feature capable.
They should have removed the comparison to a gaming card and also a gaming driver link on their website in that case.

This mess is entirely of AMDs own creation again. If the FE later supports the RX drivers and gaming performance improves then sure add a gaming driver link back in, but having it from day 1 and offering poor gaming performance is a PR disaster for AMD.
same silicon, it doesn't mean the firmware or drivers act in the same way, especially since pro orientated drivers and firmware will have an emphasis on rendering accuracy over speed.
What have they done wrong here that you think they deserved to be attacked, they could not have been more clear, it is not a gaming card and its gaming performance is not indicative of the RX version of the card when it arrives.

right, except as we can see nvidia quadros perform very very closely (within 5%) if their gtx counterparts, so at most expect a 5% uplift from that change.
People aren't going by What Raja said, they are going by what AMD's website says, AMD's drive page says, AMD"s software that has a game mode, AMD comparing vega to a gaming GPU Titan, and AMD giving PCPer the green-light to benchmark games.
There have been benchmarks where quadros have a 20%+ delta between them and their gaming counterpart.
@Jokester its not a gaming driver link and AMD didn't say it was, they simply said "you can game on it to if you run it in gaming mode" pointed you to the only driver it has, they didn't say it was a gaming driver and I at least didn't read what they said or the way they went about it as tho it was a gaming driver.

Except in reality, the professional drivers render games at the same speed as the gaming drivers. A Quadro P5000 benches the same as a 1080, for example.
Sometimes the profesinal cards will come with lower clocks and reduced power. So maybe RX vega will have higher clock and higher, except hey are already hitting a thermal ceiling so that seem unlikely. But sure, they could bump the clocks and power up a little and gain 5-10% performance at over 300 w draw, that still wont make Vega come close to the Ti.
You're again missing the point. Sure if it's not a gaming card, but supports gaming you don't have a a gaming driver link on the website. It's completely irrelevant that it's physically the same driver!
yet there are plenty of examples where the gaming orientated version of the card has a clear advantage over its quadro variant. but since many people don't tend to do those comparisson its a pain to find them, there was an entire article of M6000 against the Titan x (maxwell) where the titan X had a clear advantage in a number of titles.

The Quadro drivers get the exact same optimizations that the gaming only drivers get, they just take longer to update due to certification. it may be possible to find the odd isntance where NV released a a gamespecific patch for a particualr game, that get benchmakered with an older pro driver. In 1-2 months time those optimizations will appear in the pro drivers as well.
But if we some how ignore everything AMD has said about Vega FE is used for gaming and has gaming drivers, and we look only at professional software with professional drivers. The th the story gets even worse for AMD. Their professional results are slower than a 1080. You better hope that Vega is actually more Gaming orientated than professional because the pro results on a level playing field are really not good for Vega at all.
They are explaining the driver has a gaming mode button, as related curtsy they are pointing you to where the driver is.
